On September 16, 2018, Eliud Kipchoge broke the World Record in the Marathon by running a 2:01:39. This time absolutely shattered the previous world record, beating it by 1 minute and 18 seconds.
In this video, I take a deep dive into Eliud Kipchoge's career, and analyze exactly how this world record was run.
Enjoy!

Fact is that this man has such a powerful mindset that he is mentally unbeatable. I believe his mind is his greatest asset and it's that which gives him the edge he has over his rivals.

Kipchoge is my inspiration! Started running again 2 years back with a struggle to even complete 1.6km and 2 years down, I have hit 10km in under 60mins personal best and 12km longest distance covered. Aiming to cover half-marathon in 2019 and full marathon in 2020! Dreams are what pushes us!!!

What an awesome video. So much detail put into it. Really great to see Kipchoge's early videos on XC and track, and then how we switched smoothly to road racing where he has become a GOAT at the marathon distance. It is very clear; he always had the talent and the speed to perform at the highest level, but more importantly he has put a very hard, honest and humble work over the years that have made him become what is today. Physically he is insane, but his mental approach to life and this discipline is just unbelievable.

Lesson: do not feel bad when you fail. Failure is part of becoming successful. Eliud Kipchoge 'failed' a couple of times, only to later become the legend or, as they call him in his hometown, The Beast. G.O.A.T.

Whether the Monza course is recognized or not,it's important to remember it was a FULL marathon and Kipchoge ran the whole course. A full marathon which he clocked 2.00.45. Pacers have never ran on behalf of someone,, it is just a psychological gimmick,..the athlete still puts in the work... Of note , in Berlin 2018,he ran faster without pacers than with pacers .And that,in the secold half of the marathon. So no need to take from his achievement by giving all sorts of invalid reasons from the so-called 'experts' who have never finished a marathon.

This was a very well put together video with a professional quality. Very informative and went above and beyond. Eliud Kipchoge is AMAZING. The Breaking 2 Hour project seemed kind of silly but it proved how impressive his world record was because it showed how close he was in a real marathon. His times in other marathons are amazing too.

Fantastic job presenting Eliud's march to fame. One technical point: near the end, the chart with his 5K splits for Berlin record are way off. In fact, the average 5K was 14:25, but chart numbers yield 14:30; a difference of over 40 seconds over 26.2 miles! The narrator also quotes at least two different splits times different than those listed in the chart.

Your only limitation is your mind! The Bible says that as a man thinks so is he. Putting work to your thoughts and convictions definitely earns great rewards. I`m a proud country man of Eliud Kipchoge. He does himself proud and our country proud and the athletic world proud as well. This man is the GOAT. This is such a wonderfl presentation and very positive. Kept me engaged throughout. Keep up the good work.

I feel like a sub 2:00 is inevitable for this guy. He ran well, and even ran generally faster in his second half than his first. Also, the fact that he didn't collapse after running like most distance runners I've seen tells me that he had more gas left, and that he may have been hindered by the pacers in the starting parts of the race.
@samotian0331
@samotian0331 2 жыл бұрын
This is a late af response but tbh if he's to run under 2 mins it won't happen at a major meet and he'll have to go at it alone, not worrying about the pace of the other runners

No stress fractures, muscle tears, ligament tears, or heat exhaustion; NOTHING!!😃Does anyone know anything about his health history? It's just AMAZING! Does anyone remember when Khalid Khanouchi broke 2:06 ? It's incredible how far these elite marathoners have come! May the good Lord continue to grant Mr.Kipchoge success in his running endeavors!
