Come pay tribute and help us celebrate the life of the one and only Elizabeth Hubbard live on The Locher Room on Wednesday, August 16th at 3 p.m. EDT / 12 p.m. PDT. Two of her biggest fans and co-stars Martha Byrne and Scott Bryce will honor Liz by sharing memories, funny moments and most importantly what they learned from working opposite this incredible mother, actress and humanitarian.
As the World Turns fans were mesmerized by Elizabeth’s creation of Lucinda Walsh from the moment she walked on screen in April of 1984. Elizabeth was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award nine times for her role as Lucinda. In addition to Lucinda, Elizabeth portrayed Dr. Althea Davis on The Doctors for which she received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress.
Please join us on August 16th and bring your questions for Martha and Scott. We’ll be taking questions throughout the hour as we honor the incredible Elizabeth Hubbard.

Martha is such an incredible pro. At around the 10 minute mark, as Alan is struggling to connect with Scott via phone, Martha continues telling her story, keeping the interview flowing, staying calm. Very smooth. She'd make a GREAT talk show host.

We were so blessed to have Elizabeth Hubbard. I feel ATWT may have survived longer had she been kept front and center. Thank you for this wonderful tribute. With every performance, she made the audience feel like we were in or wanted to be in Lucinda’s world as it turned. A great actress. And a great loss!!

Agreed! Y&R kept Kay as a star until the very end. Watching Lucinda and (Scott Bryce or even Hunt Block) Craig battle with Sierra, and adult children, caught in the middle would have provided years more of story. Goutman was ageist not understanding younger demos enjoy charismatic characters. Yes, vets often recede into the woodwork, but not power houses like Liz. By 2010 Lucinda was the only relevant pre 1984 actor

Elizabeth is one of the top 5 daytime actresses of all time!… hell, she was one of the greatest actresses ever! She owned every scene. One of the things I loved is when she’d , how do I explain it, she’s get excited ,angry, happy, afraid and her emotions would ramp up in a scene and she’d change speeds in those scenes. One of a kind ever!!!

Most memorable Lucinda Lily reaction I'll never forget is when Lucinda and Lily were discussing her wedding plans to Holden, Lucinda wants to have a spectacular reception at a catered venue saying we''ll have lobster and caviar and Lily interrupts and says "actually mother we'd thought we'd have the reception at the Snyder farm. Thank God I saved this to “watch later” and finally watched it tonight. Martha and Scott are beautiful people. And I think because they were touched by a beautiful lady, the magnificent Elizabeth Hubbard. I remember I loved ATWT because it showed such strong families like the Snyders and Dixons and Stewarts and Hughes. I also remember getting to the end of an episode and thinking “damn it, they didn’t show Lucinda at all today. She’d better be on tomorrow!” Her over the top portrayal of Lucinda was funny, sensitive and heartbreaking all at the same time. I hated the days she wasn’t on. And loved the days she blew into a scene like a hurricane. You’ll be missed Liz. And I will keep reading, and watching people, and talking to the people in my life but mostly listening to them too in an effort to honor your life. ❤️

Thanks so much Alan for doing this and for getting Martha and Scott Bryce on. Both are so loved and missed as Liz is. I mean with Liz there were so many standout scenes as lucinda. I was hoping you would find and show the wonderful clip of Liz with Scott Bryce that aired on 9/06/1989 which had such a standout scene of Liz and Scott with Peter Boynton at the oakdale police station while Paul was at the police station. Which Liz as lucinda showcased once again the lengths she would go to for both lily and Sierra. As this was the period where seirra was discovered alive but scott Bryce was getting ready to go reacuring. So to sumarize what someone said about scott Bryce as Craig VS the later Craig's was Scott's ability to play so many facets of the charecter and range of emotions but still be loved by fans. But again if I am honest Doug Marland was the best. But again millie Taggart, Susan bedsow Horgan, and harding Lemay deserve just as much credit for cleaning up atwt and getting the show to a point where Douglas Marland could come over from loving and do what he did. And finnaly it's like Martha and Scott said Liz as lucinda was one of those icons. The same way colleen zenks Barbara is too. Or Kathy Hayes Kim. Marie masters. Kathleen widoes too. Lisa brown. I could go on and on. But honestly I keep coming back to the same thing based off of Liz. Let's do something about trying to reset and restart the 3 p and g shows. Because the need is there for it now.

Ben that would have been late 1992. Until 1993. And scott Bryce was reacuring as Craig by that point but would go back on contract around January of 1993. And with Martha she would return as lily right around February of 1993. But not get back on screen until end of March early April. And benjamin I think Martha may have shot other scenes as lily and was supposed to be on camera a few weeks earlier. But I think stuff got pulled right after Doug Marland died. So the period you watched atwt was around the time I first watched which was during the last 6 to 8 months before Doug Marland died. It was the after that was painful and I don't think atwt ever fully recovered from his unexpected death. So benjamin also the period when Martha came back was when the holden amnesia storyline was going on. Which occurred after Jon Hensley at the time had one of those Doug Marland dinners and was telling him that he thought holden was getting boring which was during the last year of Heather ratreys run as lily. But I think if Jon hensley had known Martha was going to come back a year later he may have been more patient and the holden amnesia storyline might have not happened. And history shows it took I think 5 or 6 years for first Richard culliton to write holden out. Then kill Damien off in a plane crash while basically telling the audience Luke was holdens son not damiens but Letting lily think it was damiens son then when Richard culliton was on his way out kill Damien in a plane crash. As Damien under Doug Marlands plan was only supposed to be a 6 month viliian and a catalyst to bring Lilly and holden together again with Martha back. Not hang around for 3 years playing for a year substitute holden. Thankfully Stephen demorest finished restoring holdens memory in early 1997 right during the Diego Santana storyline which was discussed today in another fine daytime story right out of the Doug Marland playbook. Only for Felicia minei behr to ruin begining in February 1997 all the hard work that was put into restoring atwt to look more like it did when Doug Marland died. Including undoing damiens death and the dumb molly Conlan holden first love before Lilly. And again love Leslie Kay and a great actress. But not a good storyline at all. And something Doug Marland would have shot right down. If anything angel Lange wouid have made more sense. But she ended up first with holden then with Caleb then with holdens oldest brother Seth. But they just disappeared and were never mentioned again except Seth came back briefly for holdens funeral in 2009. But there was no angel Or ellie Snyder at the funeral. Anyway just getting you up to speed benjamin on what period you were watching. And some of the messes the show went through after Doug Marlands death. And the later years screw ups including criag which Martha actually discussed in that same interview she gave with Liz back in 2020. Which again should not have even been thought of. By hogan if he actually looked at the whole Doug Marland period of the show.

I was just thinking of all the Soaps, and wondering how and where they are now in 2023; then the Obit. came up for "Kathryn Hays" Very Sad; 😪 but, so happy I found "The Locher Room" now i'm hooked again! and have been watching some episodes, on KZbin everyday; (just for the memories) ATWT, Edge of Night, Secret Storm, Love of Life; I started watching them all back in the 70's when my children were born. So Good! I have tears in my eyes, and think, (Where did the time go) this is Great!! that I can see the Actors and Actresses, and their lives as of today, also Coleen Zenk, is now on Y&R 🤩🤩Yes, so nice to see Craig again as well. I so appreciate all that Alan has given us. How fortunate we are to have gotten to know Elizabeth in the previous dialogue kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5_GiYB5jJx6nMk, and now to learn so much more about her from those who worked with her so closely and loved her so dearly.

Shit. I had no idea she’d died. She was incredible and should have won one year for Lucinda.

Always wished Lucinda and Emily had more interaction. Emily could be very dramatic as was Liz

A pity the show ended. The final two to three years were mostly boring, the show's flow had been broken; however, it was still nice to watch the actors. Fourteen years later and the older vets are mostly gone which is what CBS really wanted. World could be rebooted tomorrow--characters like Lilly, Margo, Craig, Emily, Paul--are the new vets, and it could be a fantastic show

I think that was 1984 or 1985 but came up again in 1986. It is on you tube.

@@simonepitre5188 thanks it may be under as the world still turns. I know you tube took down 9/28/1990. A few months ago. It's a disgrace
