Thanks so much for this, got lost transferring from thamelink to Elizabeth line this Friday, had to come out of the station to get back 'in'.

Brilliant, I was trying to find out how easy it was to do this and voila! Thanks for posting.

Well here I am thinking it was some convoluted hallway like the Paddington Liz to Bakerloo transfer. Literally one stair/escalator to go northbound and 2 more to go southbound.

I was certainly impressed by the quick and easy transfer to the Thameslink westbound platform (on the opening day BTW!) Also just up and over to the eastbound. Also quite like the two entrances at street level... Underground easier from one, Thameslink and Elizabeth Line from the other. Goes without saying that the EL new section as a whole is pretty impressive, even if you're not particularly interested in railways.

Am I right in saying that in addition to westbound underground being cross-platform to Thameslink Southbound, Thameslink Northbound is adjacent to which Crossrail, East or West?

I noticed changing from Liz to tube, I was signed up to ground level, out the new entrance, back in the old entrance and back down the usual way. I wondered if I could've just walked along the Thameslink platform and clearly one can.

Thank you so much for the video!! I will travel to london this summer and wonder if I travel to Farringdon station by Elizabeth line, is it necessary to exit the gate and enter again to reach thameslink?😊😊

Transit from eastbound Elizabeth (from LHR) to southbound thameslink (to Brighton) I think I need paper ticket from farringdon to Brighton (beyond contact zone). If i get advance day ticket online How do I tap out of Elizabeth without going up and out? The video show a yellow tap near lift, but it is not clear it is a valid tapout. Britrail and Tfl tell me to contact the other for information on how to transfer. Also Heathrow Connect is not selling the 5.50 ticket anymore on their website. Have they colluded to not undercut Elizabeth?

Thanks for the video! I will be visiting London for the first time in May and this is helpful. If I'm coming from West Ealing on the Elizabeth Line to Gatwick Airport, do I need to go out to the street and touch in again to transfer to Thameslink? Thank you kindly!
@iambrianjones Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if they have fixed this yet. Worth checking at the station to see if you need to exit the station in order to do the transfer properly.

Very good. Can this be used to change from Elizabeth Line to Circle Line without exiting the station? Thanks.
@grassytramtracks6 ай бұрын
You have to go out of the ticket barrier, walk across the road and into the tube station opposite for the underground
@wmdouglas39 ай бұрын
Did you have to “tap-out” of the Elizabeth Line to reach the ThamesLink platform? (the video doesn’t show it)
@grassytramtracks6 ай бұрын
You don't have to pass through a gateline, so if your journey is fully within the oyster fare zones you don't need to tap out and back in. However, because Thameslink goes outside the oyster fare system, there are freestanding validators for passengers travelling on a paper ticket on a Thameslink train
@wmdouglas36 ай бұрын
@@grassytramtracks thanks for replying, to clarify, my question was based on not already having a paper Thameslink ticket in hand.

Good quality video. But you don't actually show the journey over the footbridge to/from the southbound Thameslink or Metropolitan/Hammersmith underground line, although you do show the sign at 1:58. But that, in itself, should also have on it the fact that you can get to the Thameslink southbound, which it doesn't.

Hi! I’m so confused sorry. I’ll be traveling from heathrow airport to Farringdon via Elizabeth line. Then i’ll be taking thameslink platform 4 in farringdon to St. Pancras. Is this the same direction?
@iambrianjones19 күн бұрын
You can also take the Circle Line or the Hammersmith and City Line to get to St Pancras from Farringdon. I'm sure you will figure it out when you get there. The people at the ticket barriers are very helpful.

So which Elizabeth Line pl;atform is adjacent to Northbound Thameslink? Is it East or is it West? All the videos online do not tell you this.
@iambrianjones2 жыл бұрын
I think it would be adjacent to both East and West bound platforms. From this point in the linked video I am walking from an East bound train and you can see the west bound platform in front of me. I the turn right to go up the escalators to Thameslink and the station exit. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIqocoh_ps9jb9U

Hi Brian, sorry to be a pain, the thameslink can't be adjacent to both Elizabeth line platforms as there would be track in the way. Is the Northbound Thameslink adjacent (without changing level to cross the track) to the Eastbound EL or the Westbound EL? Thanks.

I am travelling from Stratford to Gatwick, and i switch to plt 3...do yiu have any information? Is there an escalator or lifts?
@vincentpajak5393 Жыл бұрын
@@europe2012wardrobe there's a lift that will take you from the Elizabeth line to the Thameslink platforms. By far the easiest option.
@grassytramtracks6 ай бұрын
From the top of the long escalator, you just take the stairs or escalators (or lifts) to go over to the other side
