I am a Liason fan, but you are sooooo right! I was 11 years old in '98, and I thought JJ was the cat's meow! And then he 'died' and I was inconsolable. The 'real' Lucky truly did die in that fire - that's why I can never get behind them now.

You know, if JJ's Lucky hadn't 'died', I would think so to. But, the thing is, not only is it a soap opera (and all the conotations attached), but I think they needed to break up. Lucky was there for her when she most needed him, but she was so dependent on him - she needed to see that SHE was strong too, she didn't need anybody but herself. As much as I hate to say it (ducks from the rotten tomatoes) one of the best things to happen to Elizabeth's character was losing Lucky.

Yeah. He did work for both Jason and Sonny. He was living over Jason's shop when the fire happened and he "died". Who knew that Jason would knock her up 8 years later. God he was hot and he still is. Becky didn't think that she would ever kiss him according to an earlier interview that she did when asked about Steve.

Elizabeth's character has been going downhill for many many years. The downward spiral of her character is nothing new. I would call her interest in Jason over the years an obsession. Elizabeth gets mad when he dates and insinuates herself into his life when she doesn't belong there. She was so obsessed with Jason; that she didn't even take into consideration her sons Jake, Cameron, Aiden, or Jason's son Danny. Her only concern was with keeping Jason with her; no matter what lie she had to tell.

+Heather Teeter No. Liz was never obsessed with Jason. She for the longest time took her kids into account when it came to Jason. Everything changed when Jake was born though. The night of their NOP during that black out she told Jason she's always wanted to be with him but that she couldn't because she had a child. That's always been Liz's reason why she couldn't be with Jason, because she was always in fear of what would happen with her kid, and when Jake came along, it was even worse. She has always been selfless when it came to her kids. She wanted to make it work, as any woman who loved the father of their child would. At first for the longest time she sacrificed her feelings and tore herself apart just so she wouldn't put her kids in danger. As time passed by, she wanted to make it work between them, there is nothing wrong with wanting to make it work with the father of your child. Yes, it would put them in danger, but look at Sonny and Carly, they most of the time were able to make it work with their kids and the chances of them being put in danger were extremely high, and yet they were able to make it work. Wouldn't that make Carly and Sonny selfish then too? Or careless and not considering their children, just as you claimed Liz had? No one complains about Sonny and Carly being careless, selfish, or reckless with their kids, and yet you want to complain that Liz was inconsiderate of her children? Liz was never obsessed with Jason, and even if she was, the writers made her so all for the sake of pimping out Jasam and trying to give them a better storyline, because most of the time theirs is boring as hell. So Liz was selfish a few times in trying to keep Jason to herself, Sam has done FAR worse and has been A HELL OF A LOT more selfish and jealous than Liz ever has. At least Liz never intentionally put Danny in danger twice all for the sake of Jason's attention. Sam has done far worse than Liz ever has when it comes to jealousy and selfishness, if anything Sam was the one who was obsessed with Jason, she always cried, threw fits, betrayed, and always complained she was the victim in shit that was her own fault to begin with. When Sam couldn't have her way, she tried everything to get Jason to notice her and be jealous and crap, and it only made her look like a damn fool.
