Thanks for filming my city, grew up all over E Town! I have so many stories to tell! Lost so many childhood friends and two cousins to gun violence! So many memories living there! Elizabeth will always have a place in my heart!

For an old industrial town, Elizabeth overall and its poorest hoods don’t look all that bad. In fact they are clean and well kept which is in stark contrast to both Newark NJ and Bridgeport CT.

I know Elizabeth don’t have a bunch of houses like that the city turned most of the abandoned house into town houses and a lot of the Hispanic and Jewish communities bought house In Elizabeth so even in the poor areas like downtown the port the houses and areas look good.

@@stanley71399 blacks don’t buy property in their communities unlike Elizabeth the Hispanics have really bought most of the property their economy is booming but blacks still go and vote and wait on the politics to create jobs and economic opportunities all those abandoned houses in Newark is low a gold mine if blacks get together and start buying property.

Born there. Know all of these areas. I spent every weekend in Elizabeth for decades. World traveler now but from Eastwick originally. My great grandmother used to live in Mravlag Manor back in the 70's and 80's. Used to give us a buck to go buy ice cream. Little kid walking through the hood LOL......different times now.

So, only places in North Jersey that you should avoid at all costs is Irvington/Newark Border area, 4th ward in Paterson, NJ and some parts of east orange. danger level these areas is 10/10. For south jersey, Camden, Trenton, asbury park and Atlantic City are bad too

Born and raised here in jersey. Sad thing is when people think of new jersey they think the shore and this stuff. 70 percent of the state is farmland. Garden state for a reason. Real shame we get such a bad wrap here

Yup Plainfield got some rough areas but Elizabeth the bigger city with way more things going on. I live in Union County (somewhere) and I always know Elizabeth people.

My grandparents, from the old country, never lost their home in the depression. But it was taken in eminent domain to build the turnpike.They moved to S Broad St. No Fam lives in Elizabeth anymore. Still, I should go to the cemetery. Mom would've like this video. Ty.

East wick lived on Anna st when Vatican’s used to jump over the gate of the pool next day broken beer bottles would cut kids Atlantic st but was always on Fulton aka the jungle still can’t believe I walked around mid and downtown by myself thankfully I was tough and head strong always will have Elizabeth in my heart nmw

Next time you film, go to Elizabeth's Downtown section 1st, 2nd & 3rd streets, and surrounding areas, like magnolia, Fulton, Marshall, South 5th Street, Livingston, East Jersey Street, Catherine etc. Etc. That's the Hood part of Elizabeth also.. this video is Bayway projects.. and Jackson Ave. Anna Street, etc. Much Love be Safe!
