Okay, now I REALLY want to read this book! I loved Amy Licence’s biography of Elizabeth of York so much. I feel like I need to revisit that as well.

Wow what a gorgeous book! Really appreciate the family tree at the front, that's gotta be super helpful for those who are less familiar with the subject.

Hello Lil! I have been watching your videos for about 2 years now, backlist and all, I am a huge Tudor fan and have been reading about them since I was around 10 years old, My first adventure was "The World of Lady Jane Grey" by Gladys Malvern. Alison Weir is one of my favorite Tudor authors I have most of her books and love them all. This one is definately going on my wish list. For Tudortember I am reading "The Sisters Who Would Be Queen" by Leanda de Lisle. So far it is pretty good. It is about Mary, Katherine and Lady Jane Grey, LJG being one of my fave Tudor ladies I am quite pleased with it so far. Keep the lovely and fun videos coming. You are one of the best booktubers I have found and I am very picky! P.S. My condolences and heart felt sympathy on the death of the Queen. I also love the Windsors,

Ooh, I need to read this now. I don't reckon I'll cry, I never cry at books. Films and TV - yes. I've recently decided to rewatch The Crown from the beginning. The episode with the death of George VI nearly killed me. 😭

Ooh I just can’t do the crown right now 😢 just too much at the moment 👑

Taking a couple of bites of a brownie and then making the decision to save the rest for later is a level of restraint I have never achieved 😂I've just finished the Six Tudor Queens series and have been contemplating this so glad to hear you loved it! Is the ending comparable to Jane Seymour, I wonder? If so, it may get me the way it did you, because that was the most emotional ending of the six novels for me.

Oh yes Jane’s ending was very sad too but not quite as sad as Elizabeth’s. I didn’t cry at the end of Jane’s although I was very emotional. That brownie was eaten by the end of the day haha 😂

What a gorgeous book. The end papers are out of this world! Yes, I always take the dust jacket off my books before reading them too.

Didn't expect this book especially so soon after the Six Tudor Queens series. Where did Alison Weir find the time! Beautiful cover 😍

Hardback vs Paperback I do love a Hardback. I enjoy reading a book more when its a large Hardback for some reason and always leave the cover on.

I got the Tudor Rose by alisonweir book 2 I got from Morrison or tesco. I can not remember, but I never got book 2 because it was not there at the time, and I got 324+ books on my tbr, I read my books from the oldest newest in turn. But I still do not know we there. I should read the Tudor Rose Book 1 by Alison weir of just jump into book 2.

I actually forever about this book and now need to grab a copy. I always remove the dust cover as I don’t want to ruin the edges. But I’m hearing you on having a beautiful white cover and worrying about making it dirty, so I purchased a fabric dust cover jacket from Charlie and fox

What a beautiful book, just checked on Blackwells and its a good price so I reckon it'll be falling into my basket soon. Listening to The Lady Elizabeth by Alison at the moment, an oldie I haven't read.

Did you prefer this Historical Fiction book on Elizabeth of York more than Philippa Gregorys White Princess?
@dawnboyle53352 жыл бұрын
Read "The Autobiography of Henry the VIII" by Margaret George. It will change you mind about Henry even though it is fiction. My other Tudor favorite book.

I finished this book yesterday and and feel just the same as you. Such a powerful book; I have to remind myself that it is based on fact - these things really did happen! Yes I cried, just as I did at Innocent Traitor 🥹
