I know i'm responding to a 9 year old comment, but i'd say it's still relevant: This is aired on "channel 1" in sweden, which is a non-profit, national television channel, financed by the government. We are literally financing our own entertainment through taxes. To an american, i'm sure this sounds like madness, but it has some advantages. For one, you don't have to appeal to the maximum audience possible, and you don't have to chase trends, as there is no monetary incentive in this. Instead, the producers can focus on producing what they want to produce, and as long as they have the "ok" from government (and the show is reasonably popular) it's generally gonna air. This generally leads to higher quality TV, though we generally produce a lot less (specifically made content for national television). Sweden also has a long history of producing movies, but that has nothing to do with government-sanctioned programs. "Så ska det låta" and "på spåret" are two of my favorite shows, and they have been around for quite a while. There is another show called "dokument utifrån" which is quite high-level investigative journalism that is also aired on national television sometimes (they generally only make new episodes when they've made a breakthrough discovery), and then there's a couple documentaries every now and then, but mostly the government-sanctioned stuff is celebrity talkshows and political discussion. There's also a show called "skavlan" , though norwegian in origin, they have a similar thing going on there. I would highly recommend checking out "dokument utifrån", they make some really interesting content that you won't find anywhere else aside from maybe the british news agency "vice" (although dokument utifrån is maybe a little more thorough with their investigations). There's english subtitles, of course.

Is this a quiz show, where teams have to recognize the song from a lyric with a missing word, and get the right answer by singing it? Unfortunately there weren't subtitles for the Swedish intro, but that's what I'm guessing from what I'm seeing with filling in the missing word in the ABBA lyric. Whatever it is, it seems super fun, especially having people sing stuff they *haven't* specifically prepared. Huh, which is funny and appropriate: the reason youtube is recommending Elize videos to me is that I was just watching her (and Alissa) sing for Nightwish in their 2012 Denver show with about 50 minutes to learn the songs, on stage with lyrics on paper and still putting on a show with dancing to the music. And her Nemo audition tape, and her chat with Floor during the pandemic. (Did you ever get your driver's license, Elize? It's not crazy to be afraid of cars; it takes skill and practice to operate one safely.) Before yesterday, I'd never heard of her, and now I'm kind of a fan :) Great voice, happy energy often smiling, many people in comments with stories of her going out of her way to be kind and generous, writes her own songs, dances, and is beautiful and graceful. And great outfits here and other videos. So many great qualities for her stage presence. edit: there's a Swedish wikipedia page for Så ska det låta, and auto-translate says that means "That's how it should sound", and that it is a musical improvisation game show with points awarded for things. Guess a clue, sing the song, and things like that; the wiki article describes it some.

I want this show in my country. Only little countries can do this. It is half improvised. Im sure they practised the songs. But the format if this tv show gives room for trying things on the spot. It is not completely flat formatted ir scripted. It is a live show. You cant get worldfamous people to be in such a musical game because they have too much to loose. elyze however is able to think fast and all the guests are great and real musicians.
