The reason he was named Takanuva was because they wanted to keep his "real" identity secret until the Mask of Light movie was released. Otherwise, it'd just be Takua Nuva.

Being the only one of my friends to own this set just felt so amazing. I disagree with the front looking overly bulky. I'd actually rather some slight armor added to the back of the vehicle. IDK, I always thought of it as an epic powerhouse as a kid, even if it only lasted for all of 5 seconds in the story.

Takanuva in a nutshell. Takua: I shell venge my friend and wear the mask of muguffin to begin my destiny and become Jesus. Now as takanuva makuta asked him for a game of kohli and the only way to win was do a special move that he original never pulled of but it turned out makuta let him.

Though this is an old video, I must point out something I haven't seen in the comments: At 5:29 the reason those open (story wise) is that to reach Makuta's lair a Shadow Kraata was placed inside the Ussanui in the hope that this piece of Makuta's essence would return to him, hope this helps. :)

I remember trying to build the Takutanuva set (combination of Takanuva and Makuta), but screwing up somehow. After giving up on it and trying to rebuild the two sets, I ended up missing some parts for the Ussanui. I have Takanuva and Makuta, but at this point, I'm missing more parts for the Ussanui. :(

I have a fix for the opening rahkshi backs, however it only works when (like the backrest on this set) the forward pinhole is unused. Take a pin/axle piece and put it on the inside, place a whole axle gap filler (or whatever you call it) on the axle to prevent it from moving. and there you go!

Hmm, wish you spent a little more time on Takanuva. Two pro's for me would be a staff weapon, which was unique in a time when four Toa Nuva had a variant on 'twin swords', and looked really cool. Also, his staff can be slotted on his back. Two cons would be the Toa Nuva legs-as-arms - they look awkward and don't play nice with the action feature. The classic 'Toa Legs' for arms (see: Tahu Nuva and Lewa Nuva) really is a much better style. Also, his color scheme is gross. Most of the other Toa Nuva had two tones - a bright color and a pale color - as well as their silver armor. While the gold armor is cool, it feels bare and empty contrasted against all-white.

I've never liked the color scheme. It looks really biased, with all of this white, and then some out-of-place dark gold on the upper body. I liked the color in the movie, in which the various parts of his body were either one shade of gold or a more tinted shade of gold.

I got makuta. Also now you can built takutanuva even though he will just look like a revamped makuta. To make a movie edition get a gold krahkkan (from the 2005 playsets) and show the takanuva face. Switch out the makuta arms with takanuva arms, and replace the gunmetal nuva chest plates and shoulder armor with gold versions...
