Also, I've always thought that it was cool that Jaller's color schemes resembled Toa Lhikan's so well. The gold and dark red to orange and dark red always seemed nice to me, considering the fact that Jaller inherited Lhikan's Hau.

To those wondering how and/or why the crab is with Jaller, my answer is this. The books say that the Hanah/Hannah crab (which lives at the bottom of the deep, dark ocean) was attracted to the light of the fire from Jaller's sword. Thus Jaller.. I guess... made it his pet.

electrocat1 The Inika were ugly as hell clone sets with awkward proportions. Not as bad as the Piraka, granted (At least they had necks!) But...looking back on them without the fresh-eyed 11 year old "Cool new!" glasses I had back then, the Inika were awful sets.Made to sell a gimmick with faux edgy dark themes.

I noticed another difference between Jaller Inika and Jaller Mahri: you know the pelvis piece that you attach to the back/shoulder piece? Well, similarly to Nuparu Mahri, the pelvis piece is stretched across by just one pin hole, leaving three open pinholes on his pelvis piece and giving Jaller Mahri a bit more height than his Inika self.

I think the simplistic build could be considered a pro. I'm not one for super complex builds on the main line. Complex builds should be reserved for Titans and combiners. Other than that. Great video. Brings back memories :)

You can stick the crab on Jaller by using the 2 pieces that connect the Jaller to the crab and putting it on the back bit of the armor pieces. Then connect the crab to the back. I believe that is how you do it.

Fire works underwater as it simply evaporates the water around it, however it is harder for Jaller to use his elemental powers than it would be on the ground

This and Hahli Mahri were honestly two of my all time favorite Bionicles. Hahli Mahri looked so stinking beastly. Like she was ready to tear anyone to shreds. She just looked menacing and I loved it. Jaller Mahri always struck me as the honorable, upright protector of the innocent. And I loved him for that look and feel.

I didn't really expect to be woved by this set since he is definitely one of the Mahri who's the least changed from their counterparts of '06. But by god, Jaller is such a solid set! Looking at his torso from the bottom-up, you have the orange ab-armor which goes up into a red chest piece that goes out into stylized large curvy shoulders. Now, look at his mask, it starts as orange on the bottom, then gradually meld into red that eventually goes out into a curved design that replicates the design of his chest armor. It's this kind of attention to shapes and colors that makes Jaller look extremely consistent and well-balanced across the board. I probably wouldn't say he is my favorite Toa Mahri because the reason I love the Mahri as much as I do largely goes back their unique and individualized builds, which Jaller doesn't do all that well. However, he is doubtlessly one of the most perfect builds we got out of the year, or even just Bionicle in general.

My experience is that when the cordak blaster has water in it more rounds shoot, but seeing as Ljay recommends keeping the blaster away from water others have had different results.

The Mahri masks were better than the Inika rubber faces, but I always thought the Inika were better than the Mahri as sets overall. Granted, the Mahri were more unique from each other (trying not to be total clones of each other) but the pieces are slightly more brittle and the Cordak blasters aren't as good as the Zamor guns.

The review is a bit too critical. Jaller can easily just hold the Hana crab :P I’m just glad that the bionicle team decided to do something more unique with the crab set. I like this set way more than Kongu, Hewkii, and Matoro, however it’s not as good as the tragic lime green winged Hahli design
