If there's one thing I will compliment 2009 for, it's that the characters got a massive upgrade in terms of color, which was one of 2008's biggest issues, especially in regards to the Toa. I just wish that the builds were a little more inspired.

I only got Berix and Zesk... I kinda like em. Berix I'm glad they made your standard sword and shield dude which if I recall we didn't get all that much in Bionicle - lot of swords, not a lot of shields. So it makes him stand out a little and makes his issues with posing less prominent since those accessories make him look really good in the few poses he can pull off. Zesk is really unique and cute and adorable and I love him and they're the only Bionicle I have on a shelf. It's wonderful.

Greg sort of went back on the love thing some time ago, saying on the LMBs that relationships closer than friendship is possible in the MU, but they wouldn't be the same as human relationships, since they are not able to be sexually attracted. Maybe it's like a marriage built on trust, security and loyalty? Or maybe he just means very close brother/sister like friendships.

Ok so basically everything in spherus magna have canon love and reproduction because they are natural beings. They need to reproduce, and as such, the feel love. Beings of the matoran universe, on the other hand, are artificial and were built initially by the great beings and later by either mata nui, Artakha or makuta. They don't need to reproduce and as such they have no need for love whatsoever, however they have a form of, call it vestigial love, which manifests in stronger friendships between males and females, like maku and hewkii, jaller and hahli, etc. It also manifests in intense admiration/obsession, like with gorast and teridax

For the price and THE JOINTS, they are crappy toys. However, some parts were really great (helmets, phosphorescent Skrall blades) and the return of vibrant colors was welcome.

I actually have four of these, two of which are actually duplicates. Two of Metus, one Barix/Berix/however-his-name's-spelled, and Raanu. So far, the only one who's sockets have actually lost friction completely was one of Raanu's. Granted, mine was used.

I got Raanu, Berix, Tarduk and Zesk when I was like 9. They were awesome as toys. I didn't care about posing figures or getting parts, I just loved throwing them against each other. That's probably the reason why still I rather have smaller figures (to play with) and don't care about play functions.

Not quite sure what you mean. When I compare the Agori to the Mata, I mean they have the same arm and leg articulation. The Agori have the added benefit of neck articulation, but outside of that and the gear function, they're nearly identical. The only other set I can think to compare in that way would be the Nuva, but that's obvious since they're the same body type.

Matoran Universe inhabitants can't feel love, as it serves no purpose to their mission to upkeep great spirit robot. Agori on the other hand are the closest this gen has to ordinary people, so they can feel love.

I was disappointed when I saw Berix' feet don't match with the rest of the color scheme. They should've been Mata Blue. Also, I've said this before, the torso pieces are the best for MOCing, just use CCBS limbs, as they're practically the same size as Av-Matoran limbs.
