I loved the q30, and as a plus they came in clutch during the pandemic. I would secure the face mask to the headphones thanks to the design. I used them 5 days a week for extended hours since launch, because the environment I work in is loud, and they are still kicking. Had to buy the q45 almost immediately after getting the email.

Great review. One thing that a lot of reviewers are not addressing is the difference in padding on the headband itself. On the Q35, there is a lot of padding making it comfortable to wear for long periods of time but in Q45, they reduced that padding to almost non-existent level and it does make a difference when you wear it.

The lack of padding on the headband doesn't bother me at all. The padding around the ear cups is so much, it kind of compinsates for the lack of padding on the headband at least for me.

well considering the price, it makes sense as wear detection is sometimes very difficult to get right such as in the case of B&W headphones, and it might require a lot of testing and time, at least the build quality improved

These are absolutely awesome. I have a soundcore space Q 45 and model of the space Q 45 that I have. Does it have it where you can listen to them without them being on when you plug it into an ox cable. I am blind and autistic, and I use them as noise, canceling headphones to help with my autism, and for that they work beautifully. I am amazed at how well noise is canceled out by soundcore and how things are done in that department. I love all the features that they have and really liked it. You can change the sound quality. Ever since I started using soundcore, I have a lesson anxiety and less issues when it comes to behavior and I haven’t been having irritable bowel syndrome issues as much as I did with other headphones that I’ve used when I’ve listen to them. This is all because they cancel out noise well enough that I can focus, although they do not completely cancel out noise. But the good thing is that you can’t swim out enough to where I can focus and calm down and be able to think and stop a meltdown from occurring. Sometimes they don’t work and they don’t help but most of the time we do. I used to use soundcore‘s wife tune Headphones, which were the beginning of my soundcore journey. I am trying out other companies so that way I have other options besides just sound core. But all in all the sound core headphones are a life changer for me and a big game changer when it comes to my life with autism. I would say kudos to soundcore for a great product and a somewhat durable one. The life tunes I don’t think are as durable as the space Q 45. It does help that they have the aluminum large hinge on them. Now if somebody can get soundcore to send me a free extra set of headphones, that would be awesome because I’ve been trying to get, the insurance that I have to cover my headphones under medical devices. I meant cancel it out, and I meant the word that not dead. I also meant life not wife. Sometimes my voice dictation thinks I’m trying to say something else other than what I am trying to say. It’s because of the way, my speech is as part of my autism. So bear with me on the typos.

First of all, thanks for the great and professional review. The other reviewers are advertising agents :) The headphones arrived yesterday and I have mixed impressions of them. Anker always adds something, but also takes something away. The sound is cleaner and less bassy compared to the Q30, but flat when the ANC is on. I hope an update will resolve this. The Q35 had the same sound issues. I don't know why the touch sensor on the right earpiece was removed, also the auto pause music sensors, missing NFC and I miss the "superior sleep" a bit. I don't understand why Anker is removing proven features! Are they keeping it for the Q55? ANC is improved, but weaker compared to the Sony XM3 and the sound is not as good as the Sony either. So like you said, upgrading from Q30 and Q35 is nonsense, for a new customer a must :)

Anker sent me an updated firmware (v 02.16) for my headphones that fixes the sound issues. For now, it's a beta version. The bass is more pronounced, but the sound is still different and flatter when the ANC is on. It's definitely an improvement though. So we'll see if it gets even better in the official update.

Wouldn't buy the Q45 now as my Q30 is still going hard. More than 2 years and it's still sounding like when it was brand new. Best headphones I've owned. Comfortable, great sound, awesome EQ modes and I've paid way less than it was regularly announced for as it was Black Friday when I bought it. Still impresses many people who use them for their first time, including a friend of mine who owns the Sony XM3 and beyond mad because of how much cheaper the Q30 was in comparison, and held its own against the Sony.

el jefe, i purchased these a few days ago. i went in weary since you mentioned that the passive mode will force the headphones to turn on but the past few nights i’ve been using them on passive mode with the aux plugged into my ps5 controller and to my knowledge they never turned on and still sounded amazing when off. do you know if they fixed this issue in an update? i noticed there was a large update waiting for me when i first went into the app with these.

Mic sounds good. No passive listening is weird, sometimes I run the battery out and this is mainly why I use the AUX cable. The much cheaper Q30 has it. Lack of touch controls is also weird, why do you it when you already have the tech? Cutting corners? Feels like Q30 were too good for their price and Soundcore is unable to justify a big increase in price for future models. Remember how they removed ANC in wired mode retroactively, as if to make a feature exclusive to Q35?

As a user of Space Q45, it definitely has passive listening via Aux/audio jack. That’s why it has an audio jack port on the right cup. It can be listened when powered off. I think El Jefe made a mistake here? And Q45 can also do ANC while in wired mode.

The no passive listening is also a thing in q35 too right? Because i face it too. Also correct me if i am wrong below. Some advantages of the q35 over q45 - • The wear sensor weirdly exists in the older (not so older) q35 • The 3.5mm cable has an angled jack and is about 124cm long for the older one. • The q35 apparently sound very similar to the q45 (according to a review by "Brannon No D") • q35 also has NFC (idk if the q45 has it) • Also the q35 has touch control similar to the xm4 for noise cancellation/transperancy/normal • Also i get an airplane adapter in the q35 • you can get them for $89 during sale (which i did) or a regular price of $104 • Also you can use two devices in dual connect using LDAC. Some advantages of the q45 - • q45 has 3 mics and the q35 has 2 mics on each cups. • 4 hours in 4 minutes vs the 4 hours in 5 minutes of the q35 • 50 hours of total instead of 40 hours of q35. Also P.S.A - Dont plug your q35 to the airplane using the wired cable soundcore advises against that (although we get one in the box)

The ear cups are not breathable and sometimes there's a shift in the way they sound when the pressure inside is released esp when walking or running. Overall, I love them. Anker nailed it....i just wish the earcups had more breathing space.

Additional information dealing with the controls, starting around 6:59. There is one button that controls five functions--only four mentioned. Play/Pause; Answer/End calls; XX; Mute/Mic; Voice Assist. Which action is the default setting when the headphone is first connected to one's PC--either via 3.5mm cable or via Bluetooth? Or, does the last setting remain "live" until button is pressed to select another action? (Alas, the print documentation is woefully lacking for this superlative device...a shame.)

The major point for me is how dual connection works android+MacOS how easily I can instantly switch sounds source. I've returned Sony wh4 to store cause it was bad - I needed manually change it in app which is not convenient :(

Q45 are the best headphones Soundcore makes at the moment. Q35 are a slight downgrade. The Q45 will help reduce noise in a plane but won’t completely eliminate it. But if you use ANC combined with music or videos, it’s quite effective.

I’m an IOS dude. So is it worth the upgrade from the Q30? Also, it’s interest the space that Soundcore products occupy. They’re not a premium brand. But they’re also not exactly a budget brand imo. It’s like they straddle this strange middle ground. I can’t think of another audio tech brand that does this.

Hey Jefe, I know that in ears and over ears aren't super comparable, but would you say that the ANC is overall stronger than the liberty 3 pros? I was looking for a good travel companion and the liberty 3 pros are the best ANC I have as my life q30s don't quite stack up

Easily stronger. Headphones benefit from both active and passive noise isolation by covering your entire ear. It's why we don't compare the two options.

Wearing noise cancelling headphones worked like magic for me, I was the tyoe to get distracted by my peripheral vision and hearing. Soundcore gave me an affordable option for that.

I tested the Microsoft teams calls on the Q30 and it's terrible. So I gave a chance to the q45 and it's exactly the same. Transparency mode muffles the others voice (Idk why) and anc try to hide my voice so my voice keeps in and out every second! Not recommend at all

Agreed. Bluetooth headphones are the wrong tool for the job. You need a dedicated call headset for that type of work. Look into something like this instead. -> geni.us/5fPPzR
