Man I love Elk. Everytime I‘d stay up there you‘d see them on the drive up, one time an Elk even walked into a our backyard and started inspecting the crabapple trees. Absolutely gorgeous creatures. Joey‘s Pancake House is by far some of the best stuff you‘ll get, especially sitting next to the creek and seeing Elk.

Its just amazing the kind of wildlife I see everytime in Maggie Valley and Cherokee NC on a my yearly fishing camping trip... Giant elk, bears, playful mink and river otters, massive hellbender salamanders, tiny red squirrels that eat out of your hand, all kinds of trout both stocked and natural, and just the amazing places and people... One of my favorite places in ALL of the world, love Maggie valley and especially Cherokee NC

There is a secret fishing hole near Joey's pancakes right off old soco road that is like a 30ft deep part of the river right on a giant rock... If you don't have any luck fishing its an amazing big jump off rock into the deep swimming hole on hot days... I've pulled 5lb trout, and caught my daily limit out of that deep hole numerous times

Was just there and saw the elk and bought a house 🤷, can’t wait to live there full time.
