Just a fun downhill video during all this coronavirus chaos.
Spring Energy has been doing the Vert is Real climbing challenge, and I thought it would be fun to flip that and do a downhill challenge. So I went off to Elk Mountain to try and beat a Strava Course Record (CR) called "Elk Mountain Desent," which is 0.7 miles and 1400ft of loss on technical trail. The CR time I was trying to beat was around 12 minutes. And...as you'll see in the video...I managed to snag it!
Sometimes just need a little challenge to get your legs moving. Strava is great for that!
Disclaimer: KNOW YOUR LIMITS.
I’m a pretty confident downhiller and I trust my skill and judgement. Start on a small nearby Strava segment and just measure yourself on it a few times. If you feel you can safely attack it for the CR, then have a go at it. Safety is key in these times. Stay safe! Have fun!
