3:43 just to note, if you have two spare handling coils with secondary as damage you can go with two pristine and two handling coils you can max out the sling that way too (getting a third pristine is faster than grinding out the handling but if will your grinding out other coils you get an extra it can save you having to do an extra play through)

Thanks for the updated vid on weapons, Elk. Always good for ng+ to see your load out even though I don't speedrun. You have the mods set up for handling and dmg that serves as a good baseline for most weapons in a non-speedrun play. And I am always here for the weapons use tips -- like the fireforge against those dang glinthawks -- in certain sections. Btw, I still haven't landed that tearblast jump although I keep trying every time I play.

Huh, didn't think of that. Didn't even notice that 3 out of 4 weapons that I use are maxed out on the main stat and the 4th one is very close, so it would be pointless to use a 4th slot for the main stat as well, so handling all the way for the 4th slot, thanks! Just finished the game for the 1st time (on Ultra Hard - which I'm obviously very proud of :)) ) and waiting for the remaster to start new game plus.

8:35 was just impressive. I’ve never seen someone use tear blast arrows to their advantage in that way. That’d kill a lot of minutes in a speedrun. I’m gonna have to try that!

I watch your stream a lot. You know me a sexy magic face! One thing I keep meaning to request is it video explaining two things. The spots where you load from Save, which is often. And any glitches you might take advantage of. A glitch being different than exploit. I know the reloading from Save part might be a bit to ask because you do it so often. But it would be really good to know at least some areas where it would be useful and why.

@F4R4D4Y so, when it comes to the glitches, there are a few, but there are too complicated to explain. As far as when reloading from save, that is a much simpler answer and can save a lot of time. The game will auto save at certain checkpoints. You will let you know when you hit certain checkpoints. For example, during the main quest, "A Curse In The Darkness", you'll be riding your Mount to the eclipse base west of Meridian to get the master override from the broken tall neck. On your way there you'll get a call from Sylens to climb the cliff and wait by the campfire. When you get that call you'll notice that the quest updates and auto saves. As soon as the quest update and auto save is done, you can reload from Save and it will please you right at the bottom of the cliff which is still a couple of minutes away. These RFS spots are not as many as I originally thought. Honestly, the best thing you can do is just watch his speed run and then make a note when he does it. Now that you know why he doesn't, it should be a lot easier to spot.

Question: why not use the sharp precision arrows instead of the hardpoint ones? is it because of the major difference in speed between the bows? and can you get the same adept version of a bow twice in two playthroughs?

That tearblast arrow trick doesn’t work anymore. I have been trying for one hour. When I finally reached the end Aloy fall down and die.

It still works and is still used in Speedruns to this date. It is just really precise and takes a lot of practice.

You can extra modifications slots in NG+. You can also get 1 of each banuk mod per playthrough so you get more by doing more playthroughs.

Hi. I just finished the main campaign and rolled back to do the DLC quest but never came a round a weapon with four coil slots; all my purple weapons have at most three, and my spear only one. Does that depend on difficulty (I've only played Ultra Hard) or is the PC port nerfed in that aspect?

Exactly You can be sure that he has more than probably 300 - 400 hours spend on farming coils. If you play on pc you can just download a save file with all the coils but sony doesnt allow that on ps4 / 5

Why don't you use precision arrows on powershot bow instead of striker bow? They have higher damage?

The Powershot is much slower than the Striker so Damage per second is much higher on Striker which is what you need in a speedrun.

I’m confused on how you have multiple of the exact same Pristine Weapon Coils. I’ve checked Reddit and all over KZbin, but can’t find a tutorial on it. When I went to New Game+, it took away my bluegleam weapons and all the DLC coils. Not sure how to carry them over play through to play through, let alone have 3 of the same ones at a time. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Your NG+ file is generated when beating the Main Quest, so if you complete stuff after that point you have to pause the game and select create NG+ loadout (or whatever its called). If the option is not available then complete the last main quest again.

How did you get purple mods with 60% bonuses? Are those only available from the Frozen Wilds machines? The highest bonus I've seen on purple mods was in the 40s, and it only boosted two stats. UPDATE: OK, I finally got _one_ mod with a 60% bonus, so I guess you just have to farm a lot of Thunderjaws :(

You should be able to kill any of the largest machines really. Thunderjaw, stormbird, or rockbreaker. I personally used the double rockbreaker site since they are just so QUICK to kill even on ultra hard. Freeze them and slam a triple notch sharpshot bow into the weakpoint on their back as they dive underground (or spam a lot of bombs)

Make sure it is put into a Manual savefile that is NG+. Been awhile since I have done it, so cant help much more than that.

Isn't using 3 pristine on the blast sling extremely inefficient? Two 50%Dmg/33%Hdlg and two 67%Hdlg/25%Dmg Coil also max out Dmg/Hdlg and are much easier/faster to get. 🤔
