Ella Fitzgerald in London -There Will Never Be Another You 1974

Some don't like the edge in her voice in this period of her career.......I happen to love it... There is more emphasis on the lyrics and feeling ant emotion..

her last performance was in 1993 in Miami Florida. she was then forced to retire due to complications of diabetes. Even in 1995 there was an event in her honor and she was aware and wanted to be there. This clip is from 1974.

There are other wonderful singers but none others come to my mind like Ella F. and Sarah V. These two women were and are the Queens of vocal jazz, though there are a few excellent imitators, there probably never be another Ella or Sarah. AND SURPRISE, I'm a hetersexual that happens to appreciate and love Ella's and Sarah's work. Long live the recordings of Ella and Sarah, and anyone who can hold a candle to them! Screw RAP and HIPHOP!

@pinoytruthseeker She was with him in the hospital when he was sick from cancer.. They did alot of performances together and were good friends.There are more recordings of them, even on the follow up of the album "All That Jazz" , however Norman Granz stated that it was not enough material to make an album.. I'm thinking bonus tracks... Thanks for your comment

@newstart2009 "at the end"? was she near the end of her days when she made this piece of magic? and indeed that love of singing was stamped all over her music in that inimitable Ella style! Such creativity, I dream of having a fraction of that musical freedom... meanwhile I'll keep practicing..
