HUGE fan checking in from Miami FL.... never thought you would make a video using one of these consoles... i started with a mixtrack pro, had that for about 6 months... then i upgraded to the Hercules RMX4.... somewhat similar, just capable of controlling/mixing 4 tracks at once.... SUPER GREAT console.... going to try and make a video response of a quick mix on my rmx4... i know i would like to see you throwdown a mix on the rmx2 or rmx4 if possible. Thanks.

i have had the first RMX for almost 4 years now and it still works like a charm. use it with traktor pro 2... the best thing about these are that EVERY. SINGLE. BUTTON. is midi programmable. i've got mine to control 4 decks and FX. the only thing i wish hercules would do is make the pitch control on their products just a little larger.. very hard to match BPM's because the pitch controls jumps through the range real quick.

i got the 1st RMX in '09 and had nothing but problems with it using mac/pc and vdj/djay software. i'm sure by now all the kinks have been worked out, but I got no use out of it. on paper at the time, the RMX was the best all around option at that price point.

I needed your assistance with something I see that you're an expert with the RMX2 among other things I had my RMX2 to connected to my PC I'm running virtualdj 8 i do not know how to control the volume on the booth Output 1 & 2. I know how to control the volume with each track and the master and the gain but not for my monitors that are inside my booth.

if I can still be useful, you can control your booth volume from the driver program... it also allow to set latency and adjust some other parameters. hope to help you 😉

Also as a response to autoloading software it would require 2 things. 1: you work with Mac or Windows to preload the drivers onto windows or IOS so it can plug and play. option 2: Install a small flash card or hard drive in the device (this is a doable option)

the thing i like about rmx2 with vdj is i turned it into a 4 deck mixer, with codex i use my pitch sliders into volumes, have it hooked up to my house sterio while i stream. jog wheels are small but im not a scratcher so its all good and its cheep $299 american (me canadian had to pay taxes and s/h worked out to $400)

i beleive the "hook" as you called it is a location to secure the device to a booth. you can probably use it for running cables, but due to the size im sure a facility would love to lock it down. Just a thought

hi . this controller seem nice . i saw it in many shops near me . is it still relevant today compared to newer models from other brands ? and can you use it with traktor 2 ; or is it doing a decent job with the virtual dj 7 LE or the djuiced software ? i have traktor ; i m looking for a controller ; but i don't like the controllers for traktors ; too many buttons ; the design or i don't why .

i think the software is more for people who haven't got VDJ installed. All the hardware i've used on both PC and Mac has just worked with the VDJ already installed on the machine

I used to have one of the first run RMXs, but it would crash the laptop whenever I touched the metal casing (probably because of shuffling my feet on the stage carpeting, my finger would get zapped as well). Can anyone tell me if they've fixed this problem in the RMX2?

I am no expert but i would guesscomputer security means that most computers vendors would not be happy with software that just configures itself from being plugged in from usb , it would give virus makers a field day also constantly looking for update makes most low powered computers lag.

Definitely possible to do away with the CD, manufacturer just needs to embed a virtual disk in the usb chip so it simulates a memory stick. Latest mac's don't have CD drives so they need to cater for this with internet downloads.

I have the RMX2 - like it a lot. The only thing they dropped the ball on is the fact that it is not a stand alone mixer. What does that mean? If your computer pulls a Bill Gates BSOD or craps out on you, you are hooped! It "needs" the computer running to allow the alternate inputs to work - How do I get by this? - Simple, I plug it into another Mixer which has an alternate player to keep the show going if the computer craps out (trust me, it will happen more frequently than you imagine). Next iteration folks, get it right!

VasGreek Look up my video titled "Surprise Birthday Party Sound Check". Simply plug the outputs of the RMX2 into the input of another mixer as you see in my clip. I then have a number of player options plugged into that mixer. I only use the RMX2 with the computer - no other sound source...

The reason why there is a CD is because the hardware MUST go into production before software, and because the CD is much cheaper than on-device flash memory, even if ridiculously little flash is needed and most of the necessary logic is already part of the device. So they produce devices, finalize the software, and package the CDs last minute with the devices which may have been assembled months ago. It's imaginable that an extra step is introduced flashing the devices with new software instead of packaging the CD, but that again is more expensive. And oh, the way it would have to work technically - the device would have to pretend to be a CD-ROM drive for a short while. There really isn't a good way to automate it much further. And then it turns out the software on CD is buggy and needs to be updated over the internet anyway. >.> And then all of this is a non-issue, because really you don't buy 300$ devices every day, what's the big deal spending a little bit of time setting it up. I do appreciate though when companies use standardized drivers/protocols and don't do complex licensing dance and simply use the device as a license dongle so you can download software straight off the official site, no registration, no nothing, and it just works.

I'm gone put my opinion about the Hercules RMX (mk1)...At first everyone said to me Hercules don't buy is a piece of sh***...so i still have it...and is phenomenal companionship...brutal more than 4 years...every single knobs fader works...is used and abuse...i work as resident Dj and also as a Freelancer...actually is doing Video in my resident club...and still going...is fantastic still running...and some beginners still ask it me borrowed....for you guys see the abuse that he take...5*product
