Hey Kareem, I really love your videos... They're extremely helpful and I like that in this video review, after your intro, you showed a short demonstration of the controller in use. I like that a lot because I'm always looking for review videos where reviewers not only explain the controls and functions individually, but also demonstrate most of them in use for at least a couple songs. So I just want to thank you for your time in these videos and I think you should continue with this style!

okay. . . point taken. Hercules was at J&R Music World today promoting the RMX2. I got a chance test it out. I'm really feeling it. I spoke with the guys that were repn' Hercules. They were acutally on the same page as you. They showed me first hand some of the points that you made regarding the RMX2 and the 4MX. They felt it's better than both the RMX1 and 4MX. I think I've made up my mind . . . RMX2 is the move. Thanks. Keep Blazin!

This is great instruction video for the RMX2. I recently purchased the RMX2 and the sound quality is better than my RMX. I already have Virtual DJ Pro, so I have more features. Scratching is easier than the RMX but I still need to customize the timing as stated on the video. Great Job.

I agree that it may be comparable to the 4MX, but the intent by Hercules was to upgrade the first RMX. Check out the June 26 announcement on blog page from the Hercules DJ Mix Room. The announcement states the following: "Big news! In just a few days, we will be unvailing here the DJConsole RMX 2 - four years after the release of the DJConsole Rmx - and will launch the World Tour for this latest controller among the international DJing community". No mention of an upgrade from 4MX.

One little "cheap" trick i did was simply split the mix out put to a set of speakers and the other output to my actual laptop's recording input. I opened another recording software which allows me to edit it onto a videos and simply recorded it there. Its not a perfect solution as you will (well in my case, as i did not find the "rec when hear" function that allows me to record as soon as it begins to play) edit the audio later just to trim out the audio-less end and beginning of the mix.

Hey, So I just bought this... I am using it with My MacBook Pro i7 and It is super clean and fast with he fader and for Scratching. This Video did help me with the Line in. I'm too lazy to read but the Video did answer my question. Great overview...

You could do this using Y-spliters and adapters. On to speakers for listening to Mix and other to laptop for recording. You could even set this so that you record on another laptop (doesnt even have to be a good one, just one that can record) save the file, then edit it later to trim out any extra recorded audio such as when you start recording before you mix. EX. if mix is 12min long, you would need to record atleast 12:20 to make sure you record the entire mix neatly. Then edit it later.

just a short correction...this did not come to upgrade the 4-mx but the old RMX...a truly work horse....my is in use about 3 years 3 to 4 gigs a week including at the club i play...absolutely indestructible and excellent durability a nice build quality...

Yea the issue with the VSM 2 its audio interface. It mixes independently of the VDJ software, so while recording VDJ does not know the controllers volume or EQ levels. The controller also doesn't provide a REC output, so you cant link it to your laptop if you do not have an external mixer. Even then you have to used an outside recording source to record your sets. A very complicated system. But thanks for the information, I appreciate it!

I like your review. Only problem I see with it is the latency. Latency can be changed to give you that one to one effect you spoke of. Keep up the good work bro :)

On Virtual DJ you can have a bass only crossfader. Where does that relate on the controller?

so no samplers while cueing in and out so you have to push the button fast tho two modes to get their .

It looks like the RMX2 vs the Mixtrack Pro 2 is pretty even... Based on your reviews, seems like the Mixtrack is better for scratching and fading, more accurate and less delay, cheaper, and it's a bit less complicated. But the RMX2 has better construction, better outputs, and the bag. Does that seem about right? Which one would you suggest for a beginner?

Kareem your reviews have been awesome my search for a new controller. I tried out a AA VMS2, which is an great unit but I could not record through VDJ because of its audio interface. What I am wondering is does this controller have that same type of set up as the VMS2 or will the software recognize and record what they hardware is doing?

I'm was looking to get a 4MX. I believe it's an upgrade from the first RMX which is what I have and not the 4MX. Not to be a wise ass, but upgrade is in the name (RMX . . . RMX2). Anyway thanks for posting this video. You help me lean more towards the RMX 2. It's cheaper than the 4MX, and it will fit my flight case. Besides i'm still a beginner . . . do I really need 4 channels? Not really. Thanks again DJ Blaze.

What are the set backs between the VDJ LE that the RMX 2 has compared to the VDJ Full. I also want to buy a good controller that can be integrated with other controllers such as pads. Does this feature this function and can it be used with the LE version of VDJ?

I figured it out for some reason the rmx2 seems to work better with usb 2.0 vs 3.0

I looked up the differences but I'm still wondering about the sound samples and effects. How limited is it and can I put in my own samples and effects? If you use this as a whole controller, can you set up other kits such as pads, effectors, and remix stations. Or do you need to buy a compatible software? Also as far as using it only as a Mixer, can I set up another CDJ to work with it or is it just a mixer?

I just bought it with 300euro . I found something who looks like this one at 150 on a shop , i played a lilbit and i found it nice , so how i just got my dad in his good parts i asked him to buy me this one that i found after much better looking and ...sure more expensive . Funny how a Dj controller that does what the big boys do is called entry level. Entry level is the person who dont have experience using a controller. I can run with the bulls with this mixer and Virtual Dj 8 Pro edition.
