yes. The other was better. The folks that do that know their stuff. I was really impressed with the person that helped me when I went to look at dresses at les habitudes. She talked to me about 10 minutes, asked a few questions about me and my guy, and brought me maybe 3 to 5 things to try on. I had specific things in mind that I thought I would want, and there was one item that was almost antithetical to all of it. If it had been me picking it out, I'd never have given it a second glance, but she said, meeting my disapproving reaction almost preemptively, "I KNOW, it's not what you asked for, but do me a favor and just TRY it" I agreed, thinking it would be out of the way after and put it on. I turned around to the mirror and actually gasped when I saw it on. It is literally the most beautiful I have ever felt in my life, there in that dressing room. It was so different than anything else Id have picked out, but it was as perfect a match to my whole essence as I had never imagined it could be. It wasn't like you saw the dress at all, like it had been with everything else, this was almost like I was naked. She NAILED it in one shot, just like that. The real shame of it is that she and I are the only people who ever got to see it, since I didn't ever get engaged though we are still together. It would have been something, though. It is as though I got to see what I would look like if I were able to be my ultimate best self, and evolved into something that "goddess" doesn't even quite describe, because it is too limiting. I was blown away by how I saw myself in that dress, which by my own judgement was like a pile of mummy's rags before I stepped into it. And that was all without makeup or hair or anything else but raw me in it. I was stunning. Everyone should get to feel that powerful at some point in their lives. I sometimes wonder if it would have anything at all the same effect if I were to put it on now, so many years later and in less physical fitness than I was then. I can't imagine anything that would be more appropriate for me to get married in, so if it would not be as amazing now, then I guess it is a sign I will never marry. Perhaps it is best that no one else saw, because it would have ruined friendships if I showed up like that. I could see it triggering THAT much envy... At least I got to know how incredible I COULD be. That day, I caught a glimpse of my TRUE spirit in my reflection. I am grateful to that consultant for having shown it to me.

Less than two weeks together is not enough time to learn about each other. Imperfections and flaws need to be revealed, and both people need to be able to decide that they're okay with those things. There is no such thing as love at first sight.
