One thing I do that helps when cutting extensions is to find where I want to cut, make a little guide by cutting a little notch at the desired length and then put the extensions in a trouser hanger, the ones that are two pieces of wood that clamp together... When they are clamped in I hang them from something where they can hang free and level, and then I can cut them in one step... The hangers are a great way to keep your extensions from tangling and that way you can style them before you put them in your hair ;)

Hi, Silvia! 🙂 My "real" hair is as long as the extensions before you cut them, it touches my thighs while sitting straight. I had never had long hair until a few years ago (I'm almost 34). Almost every "professional" haircut I've had has either been messed up and needed to be fixed, resulting in extra length being taken off, or too much length being taken off in the first place 😥. For the past 4 years I have been trimming my own hair and doing a "dusting " as needed- which I learned from you! It grows faster now than it ever has thanks to that tip, cutting it myself, and using little to no heat for over 2 years now 🤗. The only thing I am afraid to do is cut layers into my (coarse, thick) hair. I cut my bangs and face framing layers by over-directing, point cutting, and I use shears specifically for cutting hair. It turns out perfect with no steps or disconnection, and I have taken up to 4" off of the length of my hair and am able to have an even perimeter. Would you recommend which technique for adding layers would be the easiest for someone to do at home, please? My goal is to take some weight off and have body and movement and be able to have waves (very much like yours in this video). Sorry for such a LONG post, I am not great at explaining things with few words lol 😶. If you read all of this, thank you so much for taking the time! Laura Berryman Hi there! I cut my own hair, as well because I've always had the same problems as you with hairdressers! Always cutting off more than I'm okay with. I layer my hair with the most mediocre method there is but it turns out beautiful every time. I separate my hair into 2 sections, the top & the bottom half. I take ONLY the top half & put it in a ponytail at the front of my head, practically to my hairline, so I look like a unicorn. I don't touch the bottom at all, in an effort to preserve my length. once I have the top half in my unicorn ponytail, I just cut straight across, then when you take it out, all that hair will be layered once it falls to the back. There are multiple KZbin videos on this technique. I hope I could help in some way!

I have extensions but sometimes they slip...do you find that the Glam hair extensions hold better? As compared to other ones? I love how flat they sit on the head. And as always, another informative video. Thanks for the tips!

try teasing your hair a bit first at the root. My hair tangles easily and I have never had an issue with the slipping of extensions.But if you do, the teasing should definitely help :) thanks for watching!

h i am teresa i am a hairdresser /makeup artist but been ,disabled for a long time . well with my illness comes hair falling out at times and and getting thin spots stops growing at times i am used to long hair lol so i bought a synthetic set from amazon did not happy bought some better kanekalon ones from amazon . i love your ideas i am still learning how to put them in . but i would love for you to do a video on how to style your hair with pre done hairpieces like fishtail braids , buns ,ponytails updoes with the benable pieces etc. amazon and ebay ,vogue and others sell these . i know you can come up with styles that will blend them pertty with your own hair instead of just pulling my hair back or to the side all the time .i hope i explained it right . you are very good at this i learned to layer mine from you lol but i did it a little different but mostly all you thanks

I was just wondering , my hair does NOT hold a curl , and when I section it if under my ear to curl it this section especially this section it doesn't hold at all it goes straight again and my hair is not silky straight r anything but I was wondering if there is any particular reason why it doesn't hold ?
