Hi Elle! Our tradition started when my husband and I were first married. We were young and poor and had very little money. So our first Christmas together we "splurged" on a Hickory Farms sausage/cheese box. Because we didn't yet have a dining room table, we spread out a blanket on the living room floor and had a carpet picnic. Fast forward 25 years later, we've upgraded to Brie, artisan sausage, spreads and crackers. Our 2 children ( 20 yrs and 16 yrs) look forward to this traditional/untraditional meal and we still eat on a blanket to keep it authentic. I've enjoyed your vlogmas very much! Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas!

Since having my son I have really loved getting into the Christmas traditions. My son is loving the chocolate advent calendar - as a 4 year old having the numbers is a lot of fun and actually quite educational. We just spent the evening driving to one of the best streets on the coast for Christmas lights. So many people walking around spreading cheer. On Christmas Day it will be various meats for the rest of the family, while I focus on the salads (being the black sheep vegetarian). Then a swim in the pool in the afternoon. As I live in Queensland, Australia, it can be quite a scorcher! Loving the videos - I really look forward to the evening when I can watch the latest one. Cheers, Mel

I really love the way you style your office outfits. I've been watching your videos for about a year now. Hope you have a lovely time in Hawaii! My family is from Bulgaria, though we live in the US now, and we eat baklava on Christmas! Also, pro-tip: When you can't open a container, wrap a rubber band around the lid and if the jar is slippery, another one around the jar, and then try to open it like normal. The rubberband makes more friction and you don't have to use so much strength.

I live in England and my family's Christmas tradition has been the same for as long as I can remember, on Christmas Eve we always deliver the last few presents, go to the cinema to watch a christmassy film, and then we go out for a meal! Christmas Day is much more relaxed, we have a big Christmas dinner with turkey, Christmas pudding for desert, and then we go on a long walk before snuggling up with Christmassy TV on BBC1 and nibbles in the evening :) I've loved vlogmas Elle, you've done an amazing job! You inspire me to keep working hard to get my law degree by proving how much you can do in a day with your amazing time management!

I just found your videos recently, maybe three months ago. I have to say I love them so much, not only because they're great videos but because I'm from Vancouver Island too. I went to school in Burnaby before going to school in Nova Scotia and your videos are a nice way to feel like I'm close to home again. Also, a family tradition is to spend all day on the 24th cleaning the house, eat spaghetti dinner and then open a pair of pajamas to wear that night for Christmas. I can't wait to see the rest of your vlogs! Merry Christmas X

My family does a big Christmas Eve dinner, then we go to church and when we get back we all change into our festival pjs and sit around the Christmas tree and start making our piles of presents, then we all take turns opening our presents. We stay up really late on Christmas Eve so on Christmas Day it's a lot more relaxed, we watch Christmas movies and just hang out as a family. I love your videos and vlogmas, it's so cool how you're doing all these things and make it seem effortless. I hope you enjoy your vacation!!!

My family has so many Christmas traditions. Every year we go to a Christmas tree farm about 40 minutes outside of Toronto and we cut down a tree to bring home and decorate. This year I decided to pick up some of the apple cider they were selling which was super yummy! We also watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation EVERY year. It's super funny and I swear by now I know every single line to that movie. A newer tradition we have is a seafood dinner every Christmas eve. It's amazing, we have lobster, crab legs, and scallops wrapped in bacon! I hope you have a great Christmas, Elle!

For Christmas, we usually open most of the presents Christmas Eve evening, and we open stockings Christmas Day morning. The kids usually get one present to open Christmas Eve morning, to play with during the day, till we open the rest later. My favorite Christmas food tradition is baking German Christmas Spice Honey Cookies. They are delicious, and they include crazy ingredients like ammonium carbonate and potassium carbonate, instead of baking powder, and also other delicious gingerbread-type spices that we buy from the German deli.

In New Mexico, my family always makes Posole on Christmas Eve. We also light luminarias ( candles inside a paper bag), which I think is a tradition unique to New Mexico. Luminarias are so pretty, btw, because the candlelight flickers if there's any air movement, and everyone lines their walkways with them. It's a beautiful accompaniment to Christmas lights.

So great to see a young professional doing so many things and not just wasting time! It must have been crazy tiring to work Mon-Frid and then preparing your online lessons, plus vlogging for almost the past month plus cooking and being conscious about your diet!!! As for traditions, Christmas is a very "sweet" period of time in Greece as we bake a lot. Honey biscuits with walnuts are my favourites! Also, at the New Year's we slice different kinds of cakes (at work, at home etc.), everyone gets one piece and the person who finds in theirs slice the 'hidden' coin is meant to be super lucky for the rest of the year!! I wish you luck and happiness!! :))

Maybe I'll have to check out that contraption. One tradition we have is that my mom always makes this pastry Christmas morning called Kringa (or maybe Kringla). I think it's danish but we are totally not danish- it's just something she tried once and we all like, so now we only have it Christmas morning!

Great video! I'm Portuguese and Chinese but we mostly celebrate Christmas with Portuguese desserts such as Milk Pudding (similar to flan) and Rotten Cake (it's not really rotten, it's kind of like a fruited tea bread with figs, raisins, and walnuts, sometimes pine nuts). This year I am making turkey breast, spiral ham, mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, corn pudding, and in preparation, tonight I made my Spiked & Spiced Cranberry Orange Sauce (I used Cointreau). Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! :)

Hi Elle, I have thoroughly enjoyed your vlogmas series. I used to live in Richmond but am now on Vancouver Island so it's been great watching you wandering around Vancouver. I have to get over to visit Nordstrom soon! On Christmas Eve my family will be attending a candlelight service at the church and singing some carols. Because I'm originally from England, I will curl up in my Christmas pyjamas and eat one or two, but probably more, of my mom's homemade mince pies. She makes the best! She also makes the best plum pudding which we devour after Christmas dinner...with brandy butter, of course, and after it's had some brandy poured on it and lit up! Have a great time in Hawaii.

Hello Elle, I discovered your channel about a month ago and have been watching your videos whenever I get a chance. You are so inspiring and your positivity always gets me motivated. I am originally from South Africa, but have been living in the UK for 15 years now. We celebrate Christmas by eating far too much! I cook a gammon, lamb, brussel sprouts, roast potatoes and this year my mom in law is making a mint chocolate coated cheese cake! Thank you so much for doing vlogmas, I so look forward them every day. Wishing you, Chris, Fufu, your mom and stepdad a wonderful Christmas! Helen x

Merry Christmas Elle! I'm addicted to your vlogmas. Our family don't really celebrate Christmas but we usually gather on new year eve and love to have hotpot, soup boiling with meats, seafood and vegetables. And sometimes, BBQ, too. Have a fun and safe trip to Hawaii! :)
