@SHICOFF1 Yes I believe it was just a concert. I had heard of Fredericks before I heard of Faull. There's a recording of "Butterfly" available with De Los Angeles and Fredericks at the New Orleans Opera. What do think of the different ending.. "Viva... insiem?"

@SHICOFF1 Of course not but they are very good nonetheless and I wouldn't have hesitated to see them in concert if I had the chance! Neither sang at the Met but did with pretty well every other major American company and Faull went on to teach for many years. I did enjoy this recording of the duet more than any recent versions I've heard on KZbin. Of course, the one I posed with Tucker and Tebaldi from the Met is about the best I've heard of this duet yet.

I ll say I heard of him.Walter Fredericks..he was my voice teacher coach ....he used to sing at the academy of music in philadelphia...pat jones my first voice teacher sent me to him...she was a good singer too..but only in the chorus over at the academy of music in philadelphia...philadelphia lyric opera...she had a thing for the artistic director mr fabiani this mr fabiani that this that this that...my father didn t like the idea of having an opera tenor for a son..back in those days you did what your dad told you or else...adios career....
