She lived with a man who could die at anytime. I am sure she cried many times at the thought of losing him. I did that for a year knowing I would lose my mom and when she did die I could not cry an was told I did not care. Bullshit. I had already cried my tears and she may have done the same thing. Yes she is a strong woman that loved a man that lived everyday as his last. Not to mention this was not her first interview about his death.

We were at Melbourne Airport waiting to fly to Queensland for a holiday. They have tv's in the seating areas and it came on and the whole terminal sat there in silence, listening to this awful news. It was so quiet it was eerie. Hundreds of people were stunned into silence and sadness. Everyone was so sad, and none of us had ever met him, just watched him.

I am. I love this family. Steve is my hero. I recently started watching their new show Crikey! Its the Irwins and it is absolutely AMAZING. Bindi and Robert are growing up and they are fulfilling Steve's dearest wish which is he wanted them to continue his legacy....teaching the world to love all animals. They are absolutely doing that. I watched them in the first two episodes and i am SO proud of them. Bindi is growing up into a very beautiful young lady and she has her Daddy's compassionate heart and love for wildlife. Robert did his very first solo croc show in the first episode and Wes has taken the lad under his wing and he's mentoring Robert in the ways of communing with crocs in Steve's stead, (as I'm sure Steve would have done had he still been here) but I know Steve was right there next to Wes, cheering his son on and he had the proudest smile on his face as he watched his son.

13 years later and they are STILL carrying on Steve's legacy for wildlife. His children have grown up and they have both embraced their father's passion and love for animals. I watched their new show recently (Crikey, Its the Irwins) and young Robert (now a young man of 15) did his first solo crocodile demonstration. Wes had his back of course and he has taken Steve's son under his wing and is teaching him the art of communing with the crocs, but he was handling this huge croc BY HIMSELF. I could just FEEL Steve right there, watching over his son and I knew he had the biggest smile on his face as he watched Robert wrangle that croc. He would be so proud that Robert and Bindi are following in his footsteps.

I never watched anyone, in a wildlife documentary, that was more relaxed, and more knowledgeable, than Steve Irwin. He ALWAYS gave off a vibe that he was totally relaxed, un-afraid, in control of, but totally aware of that animals behavior, and respectful of ANY animal he was presenting. He was a CLASS ACT, and a total lover of ALL the wildlife he was teaching about. God Bless you Steve Irwin, and Rest in Peace. Now we have Terri, Bindi & Robert to "pick up the football, which is wildlife conservation, and run it up" for us now, as they pick up, where you left off. I am thoroughly enjoying their new show "Crikey : It's the Irwins"!

Bonnie Barto Very true! Mr. Steve Irwin a.k.a “The Crocodile Hunter” didn’t claim to be perfect yet he went out of his way to help animals both domestic & ferrel animals in the bush. He didn’t set out to become a hero & a mentor to kids (as well as adults) all around the world-but when he realized that kids around the globe were watching him & looking to him for guidance. He never complained that he had to behave-Steve stepped up & lived an extremely open life. He traveled to cities, states, continents & countries to help whomever he could wherever he could, many of these visits were only based on a letter of concern or curiosity from a child, a teacher, a veterinarian or a zoologist. And he took Terri and Bindi everywhere w/ him so they could be together & be a family
@bonblue49935 жыл бұрын
@@shannoncochran187 I saw a lot of similarities between Steve and John Denver. I actually think that they looked a lot alike. Both of them gave such huge gifts to the world and they were both so appreciative of the beauty and specialness of nature and conveyed that in such wonderful ways. If I had millions of dollars, I would create a special on TV to honor both of these wonderful people whose left us much too early.

@Woozie52 There is no "normal" way to mourn a death. Some mourn crying themselves to sleep--some mourn by making light of a situation and desperately finding the positive so that they can move on. Also, she has children to care for, and she doesn't really have the option to feel sorry for herself. She's showing her strenght, in moving on as fast and good as she can, not only for her late husband, but for her children and zoo that depend on her. Anyone questioning her motives, is ignorant.

What Steve said about being more afraid of people than of wildlife & of people being duplicitous while animals are forthright in their response to you is so true. I have said COUNTLESS times that I'd rather encounter a bear alone in the woods than a man alone in the woods. Animals don't act with malice, the way humans do. Also, the reason people like pets is because they know that you always know where you stand with a dog, for example. They may bite you, chase you, cower in fear, run from you, or wag their tail & lick your face, but whatever their reaction, it's going to be real. They are not going to protect your feelings, nor are they going to play head games. Most humans are not that honest.
