One minute I was looking at a brown stick figure and the next, it was a realistic deer with antlers. I actually went to pick the card up off the screen to see it closer! On the cabin card the whole thing popped when you highlighted the the snow below the cabin. I kept saying put some footprints in there. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. Ellen. Question and gratitude....,Your teaching style is the best! I love your tips n tricks......thank you for helping me to earn this relaxing art. And........I wonder if you have a second best watercolor brand since the Holbein is a bit expensive. Is there a good quality that's a bit less? I am getting the brushes ou recommended cuz they really make a huge difference!

I’ve been using Daniel Smith (local for me in Seattle) but $25 on Amazon for 6 mini tubes (warm red/cool red, warm blue/cool blue, and warm yellow/cool yellow - mixing new colors take some practice but I love it! The pigment is so smooth and wet on wet has been gorgeous. Another brand I’ve used before Smith was Kuretake Gansai Tambi - you can add more water for a gouache effect which is nice because I use the white for snowflakes. The paper is important too - Arches is pricey but so worth it especially if you use a lot of water (like I do) Happy art making Mary!!! Hope this helped 🌺

I've been struggling to paint animals, and you did it very well! I never make a proportional one. It always looks silly. :') Once I tried to paint a deer and my friend said, "Is it pregnant? And what happen to the head? It looks ad chubby as cat. So it's a cat with antlers, then?" 😂😂

They’re tough to paint LOL, my deer had alien looking eyes. It’s all good, I plan to make more and hopefully the eyes become more deer like over time 🤣🤣🤣 Don’t give up!
