If you are wondering how to do speech therapy at home, today I am giving you a framework to follow for at home speech therapy. I am a licensed and certified SLP, or more commonly referred to as a speech therapist, and I will teach you how to do speech therapy exercises and articulation exercises for the "S" sound at home. I just want to thank you and show my deep appreciation for putting this material online. I'm a 42 y\o man with a lisp who's been postponing any treatment since childhood because of past trauma and lack of resources. After the pandemic I decided to change a few things in life, and the lisp is one of them, so I recently stumbled upon your videos, and they have been so helpful! I'm recording myself while I practice to listen back how it's coming out, and I'm actually surprised with the results. Already tried to switch to "correct s" mode while talking to people, and it's very, very difficult. I'm glad you cover this topic too. Do you think that reading out loud and recording my voice is a good way to keep my "Ss" crisp and clear even after the initial learning phase? Thank you again!

I have to thank you SO SO MUCH for your 4 videos on the "s" sound. I am going through training to become an audiobook reader and my instructor noticed right away that in my recordings I have a problem with sibilance. I talked with a speech therapist who was going to charge me hundreds of dollars to diagnose and treat my speech issue. I was SO grateful to find your videos. I discovered quickly that my problem was having my tongue too far forward and the sound "hissing" through my front teeth. It was a bit tough at first, but as I worked through your videos and did a LOT of practicing every day I was so grateful to find my sibilance was disappearing and my recordings sound better! The only other option for an audiobook reader is to go back and edit the sibilance but editing is such a pain, I'm so glad to be able to fix the problem at the front side. Thank you again!

That journey was tough! With twins I was so worried my twin girls would have it but so grateful they didn’t.....

@@fadilamehmedovic3227 no way! We do have so much in common! That whole clubfoot situation turned into a huge nightmare. Terrible wounds and all...so so hard. But praise the Lord we are just in the boots now and his wounds are healed. He has to have another surgery in January or February. Because he’s atypical, now he has a ballerina foot and needs a release to get more range of motion up and down. Luckily, unlike the tenotomy, he’ll be put to sleep for this upcoming surgery. It was horrible having him awake for that tenotomy!!! How’s your clubfoot baby doing now?? And yes such a relief your girls don’t have it!

@@ellenfrankspeechtherapy he’s really good! Aww it was such a hard time too when my son has wear his from the cast at 1 week old then to braces the 23 hours . Then only at night . It was a mission he’s off now since he was 3 years . Wow my son didn’t have any surgery only the small one they had do in the heel that was quick I think that was the tentamoy. I can’t imagine u sleep train them with those on! The one think
