Ok, I don't know why it caught my attention but here goes! Ellen is a natural in front of a camera. It's one thing to be natural at something you love, like playing a bass. It's a another thing to be a natural at "public speaking" Yes I know it's a grey area of "public speaking" here on KZbin but to me it's still the same. I get a little nervous when I'm being filmed just like if I was in front of a crowd. This tells me that Ellen is a natural speaker and probably a VERY outgoing person. I have a daughter that was like that as a kid. Normally I don't like to see kids have to do sponsorship type speaking on KZbin but here she is so natural it really is a good thing for her to do. Keep it up Ellen, I love to watch you play. I especially love to watch you play with your Dad. Bonding is important.

Ellen and Dad.....Check out a band called The Warning on KZbin if you haven't already. They are a band of three sisters from Monterrey, Mexico (Alejandra 17 on bass, Paulina 20 on drums and vocals, and Daniela 22 on guitar and vocals). They have been playing as a group together for 10+ years, they do their own material, and also really rock the house when they do live shows. They are touring the US and Canada right now and will be playing in Phoenix, LA, Santa Ana, and Grand Junction Colorado in the not too distant future. I think Ellen would enjoy seeing them and even meeting them if you can arrange it! (I'm sure they would enjoy meeting her as they also started playing really young. It might help inspire Ellen even more (not that she needs it as I get the feeling she is highly motivated to learn more it seems)!

I use this a lot to transcribe tunes for every Sunday church service. It has some big issues but wouldn’t give it up. Mainly, the problem is that for KZbin it only works with the chrome browser on my iPhone and not in the KZbin app. When you turn it on you can no longer use the iPhone keyboard to type in the name of the song. I have to turn the Vidami off, search for the song then turn it back on. Not a huge issue but would be awesome if they fixed this.

Please tell me why a bass with two pickups has six knobs and what they all do.

There are a bunch of different ways to configure the controls for dual-active pickups. 2 of the knobs will be either Volume/Volume or Volume/Balance. The other 4 are either a four-band EQ (rare); Three-band EQ with a midrange sweep (that's usually handled by stacked knobs though); or three-band EQ and a master tone control (you'll find this on basses that can run in either active or passive mode). On the Markbass JP series, which she is using here, the two big knobs are separate volume controls for each pickup. The small knob at the back of the top row is a master tone control, and the three on the bottom row are bass/mid/treble. I have a bass with SEVEN dials and a switch, but two of them are stacked so you would only see 5 at a glance. Its the most complex scheme I've come across. 1: Master volume. 2-(Stacked under 1): Master tone 3: Pickup Balance 4: Treble boost/cut 5: Mid boost/cut 6- (stacked under 5): Mid Frequency Selector 7: Bass boost/cut.
