I loved this game despite of a lot of people but I actually think that Ellie deserved a happy end and mostly with Dina and JJ.
I also think that the part in Santa-Barbara wasn't necessary. Tommy came to a happy house to ruin it because of HIS vendetta. When Abby let them go it was one of the most powerful moments of the whole game, even if a lot of people hate her, I don't really think she deserved all the hate. She revenged her father. (I love Joel and if I were him i would do the same thing to save Ellie but killing Abby's father wasn't also a necessary.) Abby actually had a big development and in the end she's not a hero neither a villain but so is Ellie.
Also Tommy was enough when he said that Abby got all she deserved when her friends were killed and then came to Ellie - a stupid move without any logic.

I understand why Dina wanted to go with Ellie from the moon and back before they left Jackson... because at that time, Dina thought she had nothing else to lose especially when shes with Ellie. But then, came JJ. And just like Maria from TLOU1, she didnt want Ellie to go because one wrong mistake and she'll end up like one of those widows. Dina couldnt come with Ellie anymore because theres something or someone more important to her than getting revenge on someone who already showed them mercy. And she just wanted to live a peaceful life. A family. Dont get all angry with Dina for leaving or letting Ellie leave. When she said "Im not gonna do this again..." thats already a give away that theyve fought countless times over and over again about the same God damn issue(Ellie urging for revenge) but Dina is just so done. She didnt wanna risk JJ but didnt want Ellie to leave. Thats why she gave Ellie a choice. To stay with them or to leave. Because the thought of waiting for your loved one to come home, knowing full well they went out to fight a war they cant win by themselves, will make u believe every single second, minute, moment, that theyre dead and that destroys u deep down repeatedly. But Ellie made up her mind. Yall cant get mad at Ellie either. Her father figure died fucking infront of her while she was pinned down and powerless. That image of Joel will really haunt u in your dreams and sometimes even in reality where u just hallucinate. Dont hate her for chasing Abby down just to let her go in the end. She thought killing Abby would solve everything and that thought was the gas to drive her nuts and with murderous intent. She loved Joel so much and yall fuckin know Joel loved her most probably thrice as much considering everything that he had done even tho he knew in general it wasnt the right thing for everyone. He knew that they were gonna make a cure, but he said it himself. He stopped them. Meaning, he maybe didnt believe a cure is actually possible, but if he really didnt believe that, he wouldve said "They believe they can make a cure" but no. He straight out said "they were ACTUALLY gonna make a cure". And he knew he took that possibility away from everyone because of how much he loved her. Dont blame Joel for becoming so soft. After living in a safe place filled with nice or not so nice people for 4-5 years, youre really bound for change. Especially with Ellie in his life who changed his stone cold heart into a soft squishy marshmallow. Theyre all just broken people trying to fight other broken people. Except the rattlers. Fuck the rattlers. Oh and fuck David
