kind of an interesting business model vedal has going on. He cuts out the middle man completely. Instead of people paying him to pay her, he sends the people to pay her. Payment is decided entirely by how much interest you are able to pull from neuro's audience. Its such an efficient way to create a performance based pay scale while avoiding any contractual obligations. Its such a brilliant loop hole that its starting to sound illegal

Has she addressed the vision more? I'm curious because from what we've seen Neuro's current vision is a little bit laggy, and it's probably more geared towards object recognition and understanding what's happening then it is towards detecting obstacles in 3D space and all that. From what little I know of robotics, you can use one or more low res black and white cameras to create a depth map that will let it determine how close or far away something is, or you can use lidar to build a 3D point map. I think she mentioned before that lidar was too expensive, although you can get some simple ones fairly cheap, like 180x90 degrees should be more than enough for this, might even get away with one that has only one axis. Anyway, I think the current vision Neuro is using wouldn't really work, especially due to the lag. But maybe they'll just duplicate the camera stream and have one go to making a navigation map which is probably a lot faster than the object recognition, text interpretation, etc, module. Even so though, using just one camera it's not going to be super accurate. Anyway, I'm curious to know how she's handling that and how she'll stop it from crashing into everything and have awareness of surroundings, people coming up to her etc. And I really do want to see Neuro learning how to operate this thing in the same way she learns how to play games, and she'll need good input for that. It would be so fun to see if she takes an "interest" in some things and move over to have a closer look or something. Also, using that data from the camera could potentially be used to further train the object recognition module which would sort of add lived experiences, making her better at recognizing and navigating environments and things she's already familiar with, which would add to her individual personality. Like right now I think the only specialized thing Vedal added to her vision module is her ability to recognize herself and Vedal. But it would be great if she's like "this is this building, we went to for Twitch Con last year, so I know exactly how to get to the main hall" or something like that, or if she starts recognizing and going up to people she wants to talk with. Anyway, I guess we can't know a lot of this until Vedal gets into messing around with combining the AIs with the hardware. Just curious about what kinds of data they be using for the 3D environment mapping and if it'll be tied to the current vision module or separate.

Well I didn't read everything, but, with what I heard in Ellie's stream she wanted to put lidar for these reasons, but Vedal said he will improve Neuro vision, and she bumping in things would be funny. To the point Ellie gave up on pushing for lidar, she will let it be and add lidar later if needed.

Since it's already using a phone, it would be great if they could interface with the AR API to get the depth estimation and such, and maybe even use it to assist with SLAM. Though, it does complicate things that the screen is pointing out, might not have the optics and sensors for it on the front of the phone; though depending on the phone model, it might have a front depth-camera or something of the sort that normally would be used for face-unlock that could also be useful.

In theory, probably yes, but I doubt she designed for it. Assuming just flat ground makes programming and building easier. The bot is light, so it can get carried around obstaclesé stairs etc..
