@@oddball1999 I vastly disagree. Liking the game is your opinion but it definitely had more to offer. A “petty revenge mission” is a oversimplification.

@@Williamjacob7789 Ok I understand its mine and the majority of the first games fan base that dislike it, is an opinion. But the main thing is: Kill joel early, because white man main character bad, ellie gay btw, and killed joel for no real reason, as in his death served no purpose BUT for the revenge mission. Ellie goes off killing hundreds of people brutally. then game makes you play a character is made you hate, (where most people stopped playing/ returned the game), and then at the end was ellie deciding not to kill abby for a pretty pathetic reason out of nowhere. pretty simple and a high school kid could have thought of a story like that if you ask me. I enjoyed the flash back parts with joel and ellie and gameplay, graphics audio and everything is great. its a story game with lacklustre soulless and disconnected story. First game had so much to the story I would be here forever explaining it and there are youtube videos and more explaining it better than I could. If you like and enjoyed the game. good for you and thats all well and good. its just over 50% for sure of the original fan base hated it. probably more based on the player reviews.

@@oddball1999 A lot of people judged it based of what they wanted and not what it was. people saw Joel die and just immediately hated it. The story is definitely connected. Lackluster is opinion based so I won’t speak on that. And then they’re were people who defend Ellie and just think Abby is a monster. People ignore all good aspects of the story. It was more than revenge story.

The thing that kept me awake at nights until finishing the game was Ellie's and Joel's flashbacks. I couldn't take it that Ellie and Joel were so estranged before his death. But then the very final flashback had me in tears

The Final flash back during Ellie’s fight with abby is a flash back to when he forgave Joel for what he did at the end of the first game. It wasn’t just any flashback. So people try to say it made no sense for Ellie to let abby live but Ellie thinking about forgiving Joel for what was “unforgivable” in her mind is what led to her letting Abby go in the end. Such a beautiful game.
