Jared, you are honestly my biggest role model. I love that you're always so unbelievably positive and uplifting! Seeing someone so positive, who makes the best out of every situation and all of life's challenges, makes me look at my own obstacles and think to myself, "Maybe I can overcome them, too?" I'm 21, and throughout my 21 years of life, I have never felt, not even once, that I mattered. That I meant something to someone. I have suffered from Clinical Depression literally my entire life, and an anxiety disorder as well, so I have to take medication. It's hard having to deal with the fact that I have to rely on a little pill every single day for the rest of my life, just to feel even the slightest bit happy. I've been beaten down by my own thoughts and insecurities, to the point where I have tried to kill myself. I almost died last year. I overdosed on my depression medication because I was also suffering from anorexia, and my medication made me tired, and I couldn't handle it. Something most people don't know is that when I was dealing with my anorexia, I was suffering very much. It was breaking me. I refused to sit down for the 18-22 hours I was awake every day and I worked out up to 8 hours every single day. I have always been completely insecure. Even when I was younger, and I was underweight. My whole childhood I was extremely skinny, to the point where I looked sick and like I wasn't being fed. But I was just skinny. I was a very "boney" kid. But once good ole' puberty hit, I went from a 40 POUND TWELVE YEAR OLD, (Yes, only about 40 pounds) to about 100 pounds. I was actually at a very healthy weight for once. But I felt like I was "fat." I have struggled with this crippling mindset, and this idea in my mind that you have to be a certain weight or look a certain weight to be "skinny" or beautiful. So I became anorexic. Most of the reasoning behind developing my anorexia was my devastating insecurities and complete lack of self esteem, but some of it had to do with my friends death. Some of it was a grief response. It kicked my anorexia into overdrive and I lost 40 pounds in one month. In one month. When Dylan died, something died inside of me. I missed him terribly, and I always will. I visited his grave every single day, and from December 3rd, 2014 (the day he died) to now, I still go often. I've been through a lot, but I always think to myself, "There are still people out there who I'm sure have it way worse than I do. Why do you feel like you have any problems? Your problems don't matter." But then I remember something I once told myself and my group while in recovery at a Depression Treatment Center that has stuck with me: "Do not compare your problems and challenges to anyone else's. Don't think yours are less severe. It is not a competition. If it's damaging to you, your mind, your emotions, or your worth, then it matters." I will always live by that. I just wanted to share that with you because I felt it was important to tell you about myself and to let you know what it is that you do for me. It's hard to make me smile. It's hard to make me laugh. But for the past three years, you have helped me so much and have made me do just that. From watching you struggle to get pregnant with Jackson, (Because yes, I was subscribed to you way back then) to now living in your dream home with your two beautiful little boys; It brings tears to my eyes! I just want you to know how much joy you guys bring me, and I want to thank you for letting me be apart of your life. I strive to be as positive as you guys, and I strive to be the kind of people you both are. Beautiful inside and out. Thank you for everything. You have done so much more than you could ever know. :) -Brittanee.

I've been thinking about the kind of life I want to create for myself too. A few months ago I heard someone say 'the world is judging/perceiving you based on your actions- not your intentions.' It doesn't matter if I talk about being a good wife and mother and friend- if I'm being short tempered and distant from my husband, not connecting with my kids or my friends.. I need to ACT on my intentions and literally BE the change BE the good in the world. Leave every interaction with that person feeling happier or better about themselves and the world. I don't need to worry about being a better wife or mom- just being a better PERSON will help everything balance out. :) ♡

Jared, you make a difference to roughly 400k people's life EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! And that's not a small thing to do at all!!! I think it's hard to realize sometimes because you don't see us and interact face to face with all of us on a daily basis but you do mean a lot to us and put a smile on our faces even if it's just for 10 minutes!!!! I love that you talked about how you can help people and leave a positive impact. I, too, have been thinking about this a lot lately. There is so much I want to do for people and I am finally getting to a place where I might be able to do something nice for people. My husband and I have always had dreams of all these things we wanted to do for people and animals. But for so long we haven't been able to even help ourselves. Life has been such a struggle. But my husband changed professions in June and now we can see a light at the end of the tunnel. We will make it. I have so many things I want to do in the future. And hopefully I'll do much more than what's on my mind. much love. ❤

The picture on your office wall is so beautiful, Jared. To my taste, it should be the only picture on that wall. Ellie and Calvin are so cute together in the little Batmobile. Your personal legacy: since you are so popular on youtube, maybe you could do an annual fundraising during a limited time period for a charity. Just an idea. Also, I wonder if you would consider doing recordings because you have such a beautiful singing voice. It would be wonderful if you encourage Bonnie to sing also because she also has an exceptional voice. How about all the children singing around the piano or you playing guitar at Christmas time doing sacred carols and pop Christmas songs. It would be so heartwarming to see but also sets a great example for other families to motivate them to do music not just listen to it.

Ellie and Jared, I have been thinking the same thing! I want to leave an impact and be inspiration. NOT saying I want others to think highly of me (as like I'm better than them). But I want to be an inspiration and help others. Making others happy is what makes me happy as well. I just signed up to try and do Red Cross volunteer opportunities and I think that it will be a life changing experience.
