Would love to see how to do this on a shirt with sleeves on the pattern, such as the 24/7 top!!

Thank you very much for making this video. I followed most of it. Too bad some of the video was cut off. You was showing a measurement of 1.5" and I couldn't see where you started taking that measurement. Thanks again though. Very helpful.

It’s 1.5 from the bottom edge of the pattern. Basically making the bodice 1.5 inches longer. Hope that helps!

Hi there, I’m confused when adding length. You stated you added 1.5 from center line and then you added 1.5 length again when you cut into the side seam and brought that piece down. So it would end up being uneven. I’m a bit confused on that part.

Same. Why did she add 1.5 Length at center line? I thought it just needed to be added at the right hem to bring it back down to match the waist

Is there another video showing how you got your measurements? Can you please give me a link to other videos that go with this video so I can learn how to find my measurements? Thank you for this video

im trying to sew up the candi swimsuit. my base is small but bust is medium. how would i know to use the small size as base and do an fba on the small since my bust is >2" more VS using small size as base and then grading to the medium size for the bust part of the pattern?
@EllieandMacPatternsLLC6 ай бұрын
We think you’ll need an FBA, but think you will come away with using size Small as base, grade to medium and use the line for the cupsize you measured. From my head this should be B or C and then indeed grade to L for waist. And of course don't forget the trunklength!

@@EllieandMacPatternsLLCdo I add trunk length adjustment to shelf bra and Am I supposed to do fba on shelf bra?
@charity.cunningham83133 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this video. I am relatively new to sewing, and FBA's have been the bane of my existence. Your details are clear, and very helpful. I would also like to see how you do the calculations to determine how much to lengthen, or shorten the pattern pieces for height, for a knit garment, as well as, how you grade the pattern pieces for a knit garment. Your video stated that you lengthen the pattern piece and then graded it before you did the FBA, did you use calculations to grade the pattern? It would be very helpful if you could also do a video on how to adjust a pattern for a narrow shoulder. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, and you time. 😊

I have the same question. Is there another video to guide us in the grading and adjusting the patterns?

I love this FBA. No darts to sew

My bust point is so much lower and when I do the cuts it ends up looking nothing like yours. I went down 3.5” on the side seam and it’s better, but maybe I need to go to 4”. Worse, I’m trying to do this on the Be Dreamy curved front bodice. Yikes.

Can I use this method of my upper bust is 39" and my bust is 45", that's a difference of 6 inches??

Yes. There is a measurements video for all the calculations. Search Ellie & Mac channel

@@locdnchosen1229 thanks I was wondering if there was something regarding the measurements. FBA seems to be where I'm stuck as I'm drafting a bodice from scratch

Great info, but this seems too complicated for my brain. I wish I could pay someone to do this for all my patterns.

Not being able to see the bottom makes this unusable. Too many "umms" and pauses, very tough to follow.
