This is the first time that I am hearing about this. I am the type of person to keep my business to myself because I do not like attention. Is it wrong to say that Elliot is "beautiful?" Men can be "beautiful," I think. Some men present as very feminine.
@ominousmusic4 жыл бұрын
@@UKImmigrationLawGeek i personally dont see anything wrong with calling someone beautiful as it can refer to anything, but its always good to ask if someone is alright with it (if you ever meet anyone trans or non-binary or something). try not to use “pretty” or “cute”, tho, as those are usually used to refer to feminine looking people. keep in mind that this is my personal opinion based on my experience. i doubt Elliot would mind being called “beautiful”, tho! He seems wonderful and honestly i would also use that to describe him :) sorry for the long answer lol
@UKImmigrationLawGeek4 жыл бұрын
@@ominousmusic I appreciate the answer. I often refer to people as "beautiful" if they are kind or have dome something lovely. Elliott is just so brave. I guess he used to the attention and he speaks so passionately and also with eloquence. I could never handle that level of attention. I hope Elliott keeps his hair long and gets interesting movie roles. I also usually do not use the word "cute." I don't know why, but I find it condescending. Hi it is great that you are learning well done you do not have to use both pronouns at the same time they can be used interchangeably e.g. I really like a show he was in they played their character really well he’s a great actor. Also when Elliot came out he didn’t specify they were a man they said they were trans and never specified if they were a trans man or if he was non binary when talking about Elliot as I do not know their gender I usually just use their preferred pronouns and say trans or transmasc. I didn't watch it, I knew it would just be a ton of hatred directed at trans people. I know people say that we people on the left refuse to engage with our critics, but bigotry is irrational and intentionally harmful, so why give it the time of day? If I meet somebody who disagrees with me who is willing to employ rationality rather than hate tactics, I might choose to engage with them, if I have the time and the energy. But we don't owe it to anyone to keep putting ourselves in the way of emotional harm just so they can tell us they hate us. Bigots like Ben Shapiro have free speech, but that doesn't mean that they're entitled to force us listen to them. And at some level, listening to them doesn't move the debate forward; rational argument moves debate forward, not sophistry designed to oppress others.

I agree. Like - it’s ok to be a woman who likes to dress like a boy. I think people vastly underestimate the effect of hormones on the body. We don’t respect nature at all. It effects our whole system - it’s not just an aesthetic. Even birth control can increase chances of depression etc. 😢

@@00st307-m I haven’t got a problem with people wanting to be who they want to be. It’s everyone’s god given right. That being said, men and women are needed by the laws of nature to reproduce. Changing sex, or being homosexual, is against the laws of nature that we’ve been spawned from. Exceptions can be exceptions, but as soon as an exception becomes a rule - the human race will become screwed. All the LGBT promotion in the world can’t change that fact.

@@00st307-mI think most people consider the effects before taking it. There are a lot of side effects (high blood pressure, higher risk of stroke, et cetera). If people take testosterone knowing the side effects, that shows they must be deeply unhappy to be willing to have them. Doctors don't prescribe it to patients without educating them.

Like you said, she's aware that she's a biological female ...that means she's a female.Pretty clear so far ... I understand that she identifies as a male but that doesn't make her a male. You even agree with me that her chromosomes won't change. I AM respectful, I just don't agree with her views.You can't understand that apparently. Be respectful of MY choice of pronouns ... For the teenagers here, learn to separate an opinion to a hate speech, for the sanity of online communication. I disagree with this point of view which stipulates that if you're having a stereotypical feminine/masculine behaviour then you can "feel" that your sex is wrong. No. There are things such as your birth, your parents, your original s*x that you cannot choose. We're coming to an era where everything seems to be our personal choice while it's not. So Elliot Page (as a simple example while I'm here) stays a female whatever how the name have changed. There is no such thing like feeling that you are a man or a woman. It's all stereotypical and pointless. And why doing so ? You can still have the personality, the s*xual orientation and the style you want, whatever your s*x is. Let's deal with reality instead of living in a disillusion. We have VR for this.

@Real Aiglon I get what you say, theorically. I don't feel that way and we all feel different things. But concretely what is it to "feel" of a sex, if not to associate with gender steoreotypes ? What's the clear difference if they have X or Y body ? Stupid basic example : if i'm female and I associate myself with the social standards of heterosexual masculinity : attracted to the same sex, a kind of a tomboy, etc. Well I will probably be dealing with common problem of theirs, I will feel misunderstood as a girl but at last I still think that this "new" sexual identity is only finding a solution to a problem that is not, to conform to a cliché : "well now i'm a simple heterosexual guy and i have nothing else to explain about my likes". And beyond this feeling, it's a question of making it legal, transforming reality itself so that it meets the idea that we have of us, like transhumanism right ? How can we claim to be able to correct our true nature beyond mere preferences ?
