The same thing could be said about famous people. Like Fergie for instance her real name is Stacy. But everybody still refers to her by Fergie because that's what she prefers. You know even though it's not her legal name. And they're like well we only do that because she only goes by Stacy with her actual friends and family. We want to be respectful of what she wants. But then when a trans person, even though they haven't got it legally changed yet (side bar I know that someone's chosen name doesn't have to be legal to be respected), they're like well I prefer to call myself this/I'm trying this name out, can you please call me this and not by deadname? One of my friends has a trans dad (female to male) and recently this at Christmas her one of her Aunts called him his birth name. Her grandmother politely told her to call him Bleu instead of Emily. Her aunt went absolutely went crazy, she started screaming at her mum and stormed out of the house with her kids. When I heard what happened I was absolutely horrified by her aunts actions, it’s 2021 people can be whoever they want to be.

That's so nice that he had family that would stick up for him. I actually had somebody in my family who was trans. She was a trans woman though. I didn't actually know about her until a couple of years ago. My father had told me that on his mother side that there was a trans person. My father was talking about how he remembers when that person was a child. He would go on about how he remembers holding her as a baby and that I remember when that child was a little boy and they were so cute. And then he would say something really mean like he turned into a freak or something like that. I told my dad off about it. I was like you can't say that. And what what happened to her? then he said that she died in a car accident many many years ago before I was even born. And I was like why didn't you ever tell me about her? And he replied because that person was not our family anymore ,it was a freak. And that told me pretty much how my father felt about the lgbtq community. And also scared me to the fact that being a lesbian I was afraid to ever come out to him. He also was like really abusive and violent and stuff but yeah. All I could think about was like how I wish that I was in her life back then and I would have been able to support her and her life. Because I know back then in the seventies and eighties it must have been very hard. Because basically no one back then really supported trans people and their transition and their life. I don't even know what her chosen name even was. And it was so long ago that my father doesn't even remember this person's birth name even. But all I know is that it's through my father's mother's side. But yeah basically all I know is that when she came out everybody rejected her and threw her out. It's really really sad. And then when she died nobody went to her funeral and she was cremated. and my father said as far as he knows that she doesn't even have a tombstone. I don't even think she even had her name legally changed. So that little marker that she has is literally her dead name. Which again I don't know what it is. It's so sad. If I did I would be able to save up some money to at least get her a tombstone and have her proper name on it. Because I know for a fact that you can put any name that you want on the tombstone. Because my uncle who died at 18 his name was William that had the nickname will be and both names were on his tombstone.

Also, I don't know how many of you know this but Gerard Way, the literal *creator* of The Umbrella Academy has been open about his own gender and how he questioned it early in his life. He went to college in women's clothes, has said he feels "more womanly." He said once in 2014: "I have always been extremely sensitive to those that have gender identity issues as I feel like I have gone through it as well, if even on a smaller scale. I have always identified a fair amount with the female gender, and began at a certain point in MCR to express this through my look and performance style." The fact that he would, in anyway, disallow a king like Elliot Page to continue to play Vanya is hilarious. The crew has already made changes to Vanya's character. In the original comic she wore skirts and dresses and was naked during her transformation at the end into the White Violin but to help Elliot feel more comfortable the wardrobe was changed to mostly pants and baggy clothes as well as a *whole ass suit* at the end.
