Just discovered your videos a few days ago. Really well done. I appreciate the comments about your approach to sculpting. So much better than the other types of videos where it is all music and fast motion. It's been over 20 years since I picked up a sculpting tool and your videos have sparked my interest again. I look forward to more videos from you.

Hey man, feel free to talk during your videos, even if you feel like you're being redundant. Bob Ross did it, and Bob Ross was the man.

I love your videos! You totally inspired me to go out and get some clay and try this myself! I'm totally loving the challenge! You're right about art stores not having much in the way of sculpting tools. I was able to get a wood knife, and a loop tool, but I'm wondering what are those spatula looking tools you're using? Might use the web to get something like that. Seems handy. Looking forward to the next tutorial! Great work!

Also, Do you ever do molds and casts of your sculptures? Would love a tutorial on how to do that, if I ever get good enough to produce something I'd like to keep/reproduce. Thanks!

That's awesome! It's always amazing when you first start where you can see what your hands are capable of. The spatula thing is a wood pallet knife (I list my materials in this video here if you want to take a look: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lajKXpignt11bs0). And unfortunately I haven't mastered the casting process yet. I just let me sculptures sit out when they're done and give them a good dusting occasionally.

Hey absolutely have been mesmerised by your tutorials and sculptures!!! In fact....I went out and bought water based clay and have started sculpting for the first time because of you so thanks!!! However...Now that I have finished a small sculpture...I want to conserve it for a long time and can't find any alternatives to firing it....can small sculptures withstand just drying normally? Thanks again...you have just gained a real fan man! All the best! ;)

You can try using sculpey clay, that stuff gets baked in a toaster oven. ( one not used for food)

Colldoff well. They do harden to some extent by getting cold. But yeah only way is make a mold and make a copy of it in some plaster or some silicone or epoxy

Great instruction and another amazing sculpture. I would only ask one thing of you and that being finding another word for you sculpt holder because some people may find the one your using now disturbing. Cheesy sounds so much better lol.

Very nice learning video. Question, you set up the sculpture on a piece of wood, but the wood is not painted. Is this just for demonstration? Because I think the wood should be painted before you set up the sculpture on top.

Hey Claymaker. Do you have any tips for cleaning clay from dust and dirt? I have an old sculpt which is pretty dirty and i'd to get it clean.
@elliotmallon7538
@elliotmallon7538 7 жыл бұрын
This is shitty advice, but I don't keep mine clean to be honest. They don't seem to be collecting too much dust right now but I think you can wipe it down with water very gently.
