Such a unique and virtuosic talent as an instrumentalist. It's always annoyed me a bit to see some folks casually dump him in the "sentimental strummer" singer-songwriter box when it should be apparent to anyone paying attention that his gifts ran so much deeper.

In the studio, he double tracked his vocals. Has its good and bad points. Some prefer it but, in any case, that's the difference you're probably noticing.

@@ThinIce365 I think it's partly the quality of the recording and partly because he was always a little nervous playing live, hence the singing and playing fast. But, the album version was fast too. I just like it slowed down and feel the message is more intensified.

yeah this version is way better than the XO version. That's one of my least favorite songs on XO. I can see how I should like it more I just don't for some reason. Not abstract enough on XO. I also like the piano version "I Didn't Understand" better than the XO version. It's all steak though, some are filet some are t-bone either way it's fine dining.

Demon chill out. You obivously care more about dissing people you don't even know with overly hyperbolic statements than aquiring good music taste. If you're defending a punk band or punk music for that matter by saying you have a higher taste in music, you do need to grow up. When I was heavily into punk and metal it was because I hated what constitues "good" taste. I'm not dissing punk or even metal. I still rock the occasional Napalm Death and Nofx, but seriously, chill out. RIP ES

@Demonslayr666 Dude Calm down have respect for other peoples music taste as i have respect for yours, even if i prefer the original. Just me saying it's better doesen't make it so.Why do you think bayside covered it? Because they hate Elliott and think he's a "fag"? It's because they liked and respected his music, appreciating music and showing a level of respect is what covers are about.Try and think about what your saying before you type in future.
