I just stumbled upon this video while listening to random Elliott Smith songs. I love the Softies! I wore out my CD It's Love in '95. This is so cool to learn that they performed together. So magical.

This is the kind of raw purity most singer-songwriters aspire to, but don’t quite get there. Even if you didn’t know the song, their delivery it rips at every sinew of your soul. Very few had this.

if elliott wanted to he could have done some collabs with some serious female vocalists. that is a testament to this man's musical range.

Can you imagine how amazing elliott's life was? From when he was like 17 just traveling around all over the US playing in small clubs, bars, and shows. Fuckin sick. Regardless of all the negative shit.

Elliott Smith was on an indie label for much of his career, and was a one-man band on those records, so he could be described, if not summed up, as both.

Although that is true, the most convincing evidence to me that he didn't kill himself was the fact that he misspelled his name on his suicide post-it note. (Elliot) and the note only read God forgive me. If you think about the profundity of his writing, one would assume he would write a more articulate note, similarly to Kurt Cobain. I'm not saying I'm sure he didn't do it, but it's really something to consider, knowing the honesty of his songs and all

did he, or did the coroner in his report? I just read of his earlier attempts at suicide, and that he threw himself(jumped) off a cliff while drunk, and got impaled on a tree, which also ironically saved his life

Yeah I do kno he went to college he just looks really young here, I guess I forgot how old he really was, either way why are you hating? he did have a sick life, he did play in bars, clubs and shows, no shit he wasnt huge but he was still a rock(star) just not a mainstream sellout.....keep your shit to yourself if you aint got anything nice to say.
