Elephant in the room: 5 of the 7 Canadian teams are bottom 50% of the league. Why?? Why can't Canadian teams compete? This should be a segment. It has been too many years since the Cup has come home.
@diggergeensen860
@diggergeensen860 2 жыл бұрын
The answer is pretty easy and there’s two reasons The taxes in Canada are brutally high, and the dollar is usually low. The NHL doesn’t care that the Canadian teams can’t compete. It’s only been about growing the game everywhere else. Bettman knows that we will generally sell out our barns, no matter how long he keeps screwing us!

According to the NHL rule book on goaltender interference: _(2) an attacking player initiates more than incidental contact with a goalkeeper, inside or outside of his goal crease. Incidental contact with a goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed, when such contact is initiated outside of the goal crease, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact._ Did Crosby make a reasonable effort to avoid contact? If not, then I’d say it’s interference. If he did make a reasonable effort to avoid contact, then it’s not interference. And the one thing I don’t agree with is the claim that Binnington initiated contact with Crosby. Binnington was standing in the blue paint and reached out to catch the puck-not to make contact with Crosby. Crosby was the one skating from right to left across the edge of the crease-not Binnington.

Make all the changes you want, but if you can’t get timely saves, then you’re not going anywhere. The Oilers rode a hot powerplay early in the season. Once that percentage came down to earth, so did Edmonton

Regarding the goalie interference topic. I LOVE the NHL these days. However, I would like to see the goalies be better protected, and at the same time reel in the rampant increase of deflection-off-of-bodies goals. Not as nit-picky as, say, the non-sense rules that led up to the Hull Cup winning goal. But maybe make a rule to disallow goals that deflect off of offensive players that are in the crease when the puck hits them. I don't like seeing players crash the net in hopes of having their teammate shoot the puck off their legs. And I don't like goals like the recent Mark Stone's against Rangers soccer goal. And I'm a big fan of Mark Stone.

There must finally be a definitive answer for the coronazis to relocate to a quarantine and healing center. For this purpose, a general declaration of assets and a denier card would make sense.First of all, reception centers must be created for subsequent resettlement. This can later be extended to other individuals for removal.

The oilers did great for the first 20 games but after that when the other teams had become familiar with each other and started to gel it became same old same old and when smith got hurt and mikko kostus1 took over the losses started to mount and his backup couldn't stem the hemorrhaging it became the same old show different time as defense has never been the oilers forte and bringing in the grey beards and wasatonetimers didn't help much at the cost of good young players so basically its same old same old in oilertown.

Time to update your knowledge of the sport you follow and probably admire. Mats Sundin is not and has never been afraid to enter areas where physical play takes place when he was a Center. Mats Sundin as a player had enormous qualities beyond his size and I have a hard time as a Swede not to value him as the best of all the Swedes between the years 1990-2010. Mats Sundin was the ultimate Leader for Toronto and it was not Mats' task to perform an crash and banger sort of game play, that was another teammate's task. From 89/90, Mats had played with Tie Domi in the team. Mats Sundin is the only Swede who too scored 500 goals during his career in the NHL. He has also scored the most points of all Swedish players in NHL history (1,349 points in 1,346 games). I will always remember all the great games I've seen Mats play hockye. In my World, he is our (Swedish) best player during the 90-20 era. Mats also had assistance un his team, unlike Peter Forsberg during the highlights of "The Clutch & Grab" and "The Trap" era. Peter Forsberg, in contrast had a need to play physically and get angry really because the dumbest thing an opponent could do was to wake up the evil beast that is found within Peter Forsberg on the ice. @@billjohansson88 I never said Sundin do board battles. Sundin was not known for being a checker or overtly physical. Also, shame on me for wanting my 6'6" dman to be like Pronger.
