I like his compositions. Too many pianists think that they must play fast, complicated pieces in order to considered a great pianist. Not true. That just means you can play fast complicated pieces. Hehe. To me it's how well can you play the music. Loud and soft. Fast and slow, graceful and edgy. This guy plays unbelievably well.

But this piece is not actually easy to play because it’s like 11 minutes long and I’m a total fail at turning pages. So if I played this, I would’ve needed to memorise the whole piece. 😂
@maxverstappennonofficial3 жыл бұрын
What you want to talk about there , is musicianship , musical creativity in interpretation . Look , often , there are 2 types of musicians : Ones who play purely by passion. Ones that plays purely by pride or the need of attention , recogniction or to show off. Now, don't take it wrong , not all pieces that are "fast/complicated" are used for show off. I would consider , a few that i know : Chopin Op.25 No.11 "Winter Wind" ; Rachmaninoff Concerto no.2 . Now depends , the musician , what he choose to be part of , the ones who play purely by passion or the other category.. Beyond the elemental things : Volume ( Loud or soft) , giving different musical colors , timbre . There is a "universe" where you , almost forget about those , and you connect entirely with the piece , Entirely Living it . To achieve this ultimate step as i can say, it requires hundrerds , even thoousands of hours of practice . It requires years and years of passion , dedication ,perseverence . () Some people say that , you only need talent and so on. Not only talent , as many great performers say , talent is just around 20% . The entire "recipe " is what i said there () . I am talking from different ideologies , and minds that i aknowledge along the time . I am just dreamign of what i am talking there and , i am not sure if i will be able to still reach my true dream . I can't find happiness in small things anymore as i did once.

Music like this has no cultural or language barriers. It doesn't know colour or size. It speaks to people from all walks of life. That's a special thing to give to the world, and I truly do hope that this man, Ludovico, knows what he has gifted us with. Oltremare is so much more than beautiful; so much more than a masterpiece. Words fail me to describe such an amazing work of art. But for me, this song is a savior. It's brought joy to my life when I felt anything but joyful; it's taken away tears and pain in the middle of a sleepless night; it's calmed me down when I thought I couldn't be calmed. Oltremare is so incredibly special to me and will always have a place in my heart. Thank you, Ludovico Einaudi, for giving this to me and anyone else that's ever needed it.
