I feel yah on this. I recommend stuff from their concerts. They're better in concert. The song I wish is an inoffensive bop. It's fun but not amazing. It is better live. This song is also super dated hence it doesn't have the polished immediate hit of the modern kpop songs you just mentioned (kpop is always evolving so sometimes context for a song matters.) Ft Island been around for over ten years. When they began the kpop scene was deffo not rock band friendly so they were often forced to do a pop sound the band wasn't into and they had to fight to even be allowed to play their instruments live (even so... on shows like inkigayo they weren't allowed to plug in their instruments and it was heartbreaking for the boys) Their persistence paved the way for bands like CN Blue and Day6 where the bands got more agency from the get go. Hongki is honestly an amazing performer and vocalist and I look forward to you discovering how much so.

The main vocalist is Lee Hong Gi (or Lee Hong Ki). He has a VERY powerful and emotional vocal. He sings extremely well live. His voice is more mature now. He is famous in power ballad, hard rock songs and acoustic performances. I really want you to do "Wind" or "Take Me Now." Like others have said this song does not do Hongki's vocals any justice. His voice is beyond amazing. FTIsland also does one of my favorite videos on KZbin...for Dingo's channel they did a TIPSY video which is when they have artists sing while they have been drinking. It really shows how talented they are because they are just fooling around but they are still amazing. (Beast/Highlight also has an amazing one for their song, Ribbon).

It´s not really fair to compare them to other groups because they are more like k-rock even though they have some songs that are more poprock. Please react to their other songs like Take me now, Wind or Pray. They are absolutely amazing and Lee Hogki is the best vocalist I know in Korea

This song is the same as 50 ways to die by Train. I wish came out at a time when FT island's label didn't allow them to play their own music so there's that. I suggest you check out some of their more recent stuff starting with Pray, shadows, take me now, and some songs from last year.

To be honest... FT Island miiiight have started as something closer to a K-pop group... But they're not. (If you Google them, you'll see they're a rock band and FT stands for Five Treasure 😁). Call it K-rock if you want. That's why comparing it to pop groups won't do. Pop songs are meant to be catchy. That's the whole purpose of pop! Here you had five musicians, two vocalists, zero dancers. If you found a K-pop song with the same lineup, then it would be a fairer comparison. CNBLUE is cloooser to their style? But it's still not the same. I have like ten songs to recommend by FT Island, but you have a much more pop-ish style, so I'm not sure you'd enjoy them. (If you ever get round to doing EXO's Bad Dream, please let me know what genre it is 😂 Also, have you done Super Junior's Mamacita?)

It's supposed to be "F.T." (as spelling) and then "Island", they are an amazing band and Hongki (main vocalist) is one of the best vocalists in the industry, I became their fan in 2011 after watching a cover of Ave Maria (which is so freaking amazing and you sold check it out, here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z37ZnYaNrbyWm7s) and ti song is definitely not their best one, it's catchy and cheesy and everything but it's not their signature sound, I'd recommend Pray, Take Me Now, Wind o Severely (one of the saddest shits I've ever seen) from their Korean stuff but personally I enjoy their Japanese stuff more, they kinda remind me of One Ok Rock (Japanese band btw. one of the best things Japan has to offer, definitely worth checking out) for example, Shadows is a masterpiece or Paradise, that's all I wanted to say, lastly, thank you for reacting to so many amazing artists, you are awesome
