So what codfish did at the start of the second round is a counter, and he did lasers that bataco did but better and thats why the crowd is yelling

Another great analysis Ellis. Codfish is a fairly controversial beatboxer in some respects. His critics will say that he has a very limited repertoire, only uses a handful of sounds and really only gained popularity because of what he was doing on KZbin (Beatboxing for easily impressed kids in Call Of Duty games), while on the other hand his fans will say that he has masterful control of melodic sounds and always delivers a crowd-pleasing show. Personally, I find him to be one of those beatboxers I have to judge based on each given routine, for example (technique and cleanness aside) I find his first round to be one of the most dull and dreary beatbox routines I've ever heard, it really embodies the "Codfish only does this sound" criticism. HOWEVER, the second round is like night and day from the first one and is an absolute scorcher. I think he's kind of limited (or maybe its a confidence thing) when it comes to the head-to-head battles, if he can get a good round in then he will generally always have the crowd on his side and that will help the judges, plus he has a few "old faithful" elements like the No Diggity break that he can fall back on and will always be a crowd pleaser. Don't get me wrong before I get accused of being a Codfish hater, I'm not in the slightest and if anything he seems like one of the nicest guys in beatbox (although they all seem a pretty decent bunch) I just personally find that both the critics and the fans are right about certain aspects of his performance. Ellis, I think you should start checking out some Tag Team stuff. You said in the circle jam how you liked seeing what different people did with each others beats and the different dynamic it brought, well the tag team competition also has that on a smaller scale and when you get into the competition, you get thr battle format as well. So with that said I think to get you started, check out Wolfgang (MB14 & Saro) GBB 2020 Wildcard and if you like what that has to offer I'm sure you'll get other suggestions.

Although, old Codfish, when he was known as Bunnyf1uff had A LOT more beats and sounds than what he uses now. He used to be a trap and technicality monster but for some reason after GBB 2018, he for some reason chose to stick more musical beats. But dude definitely used to be a lot more crazy than he is now.

This is a rather unimaginative view of codfishes first round. Beatboxing isn’t all about an impressive repertoire of sounds you can make. The production of his first beat was insanely well thought out and the melody was beautiful. A very moving performance.
@VICKERY-4 жыл бұрын
The thing about this battle is the whole structure of it is like a movie, and the more times you rewatch it you notice little things that you didn't notice before, and codfish perfectly set this battle up in a structure similar to a superhero movie, plus predicted roughly the level that bataco was gonna bring to the table. He also used a lot of repetition, counters, and shuttle hints to how he was gonna "obliterate" bataco, and afterwards brought back those little things.

So Bataco is more of a battling beatboxer which is why he came out of the gates with beats. Codfish is more of a showcase beatboxer and it also helps that he had established popularity due to his KZbin channel. That being said, from the second round alone, I think Codfish wins it
