Ahahaha the food is basic but pretty good most of the time. Sometimes rubbish have to say. The buses are mental but good fun, at least here they are on the right side of the road, in other countries round here 50 percent of the drive is into oncoming traffic! Have a lovely day Yvette!

Chicken buses are the ONLY way to travel in Guatemala 😎 bizarrely they're usually faster than the tourist shuttles as well! Haha I struggle with the Mayan languages as well 😵‍💫

@EllisWR absolutely agree. I had no choice but to get a shuttle boat over from El Salvador to Nica and it was the WORST. Would've rather gone via Honduras but they've put those visa regulations in for us Brits now

@no_soy_rubio Ahahah that was our exact plan mate!! Then I found out it's run by that weird company, they charge a fortune and it's a backpacker sandwich which would have driven us mad. We last minute went to the Honduran embassy in Mexico city and paid for a visa they literally just took our money and stuck it into passport ready to go. Had to wangle a few extra days in Mexico to sort it but was worth it!

@EllisWR ah fairs, I was already in Guatemala when I found out about the Honduras visa thing. I've already been to Honduras, albeit only Copan Ruinas, so just decided to re-route

@@no_soy_rubio Yeah it stumped us! You can get the visa at any embassy if you do fancy it. I highly recommend Honduras we're having a blast. Copan ruinas is cool as but theres loads of mountain towns, the coast looks sick and we're soon off to the South!

Nice trip, but Quiche is far from Xela, there is a direct bus to xela, pullman or chicken bus, where you were Santa Cruz del Quiche is capital of Quiche Department, should have 😢stop in encuentros then take a chicken bus to xela, the bus driver scam you big time
