From the guy who found this disc in a North Carolina garage at about 8 or 9pm in 1977 the guy was a bit pissed with us as we'd stayed longer than he wanted ,picked up a shawn robinson as well ! Was with Steve Cooper on a 6 week trip and i picked out 7 copies of the illusions. We sent a copy to Soul Sam and gave 1 to Hammy who was DJing at the time a few days later ! That was our secound day in the States. The very next day we went out looking for record stores and the 1st one we found we found 100 count boxes of Maurice Williams !Lol ! Amazing ! And were saying , well ,shall we take a handfull or just say 10 or 12 The trip got better but thats for another time ! Hammy and Soul Sam will verify ! By the time we got back the Illusions was already massive - feather in the cap me thinks Lloyd from Bedford oh lol we found 100 count boxs of Queen of Fools in the same store ! Mental

Great record.. I think I got quite a bit for it when I sold mine on Manships auction in '03ish.. wish it '..Didn't Have To Leave..' but different priorities at the time. Paid Minshull £12 for it at the 'Chuck Jackson' All-Niter - Morecambe Pier... '83ish??

In the dark ages before the Internet I am sure I read that she was in a background singing trio with Rose Valentine and Melba Moore. I know white girl singers were used by Jack Ashford certainly to be paired with more capable voices. I am sure they were called the Girls/ sisters three but I've never found concrete evidence. If you Google 'disco gif' she appears with an older man doing a Godless grinding motion. Naughty me.
