Ha! It was shit for Northern, Dave, but it was built for ballroom dancers so you can forgive that. It was a good place to come down all day without your girl (or your mum) giving you earache. Hello, mate, sorry I have been away so I didn't see your reply. I am just trying to work out when they appeared and I am pretty sure it would have been '77 or '78. I started going to Wigan in '75 and lived in Worsley then so caught the bus home. It wasn't until I moved to town (M/C) that I began using the train and met lads heading to the Ritz, like you the lure of a few beers to wash the talc out of my throat made the Ritz irresistible. We cut an EMI of this. Was the 1st one we did. I THINK we put Don Thomas Cpme on Train on other side. Only did 20 and then some bread head went and did a EMI off of one of ours and did loads of them. Real naff qualty. Musta been end of 73 or early 74. Excellent track. Proper stomping stuff!
