He’s such a great athlete for his size, he doesn’t have those weird knees that a lot of giants have, he’s stable and he’s really quick on his skates, he’s an anomaly of a hockey player. Cannot wait till next season with this team.

@@bigdawggkev One could hope, but when it comes to this type of players, it's impossible to predict. There's one Tage Thompson and no one foresaw him becoming what he now is. Just too unique to get good predictions. Just wait, hope and see.

It’s crazy the creativity he has at his size. He makes unorthodox moves and makes people look silly. It’s amazing to watch. Hope he cracks the lineup this upcoming season.

This season he reminded me a lot of his first season of senior hockey in Sweden. And that following season he was a completely different player. Hopefully he will improve similar this year.

@@fabiannordstrom6971 hopefully. He's very sluggish, and I'm not so sure he can hold up for a full 82 game season.. He's already struggled with injury this year, to me Soderblom has the highest ceiling, next to probably amadeus lombardi on the Wings, but I don't think he's guaranteed to ever reach that, but if he some how does, he will be a generational unicorn. Honestly I'm most excited to see Carter Mazur play, in 6 AHL games in his first few games at the end of the last year he had 3 goals, and 3 assists. And in 10 games at the World Juniors a month ago, he had 4 points in 10 games against very talented NHL players. I think he will 100% be getting an opening night spot. I think Soderblom will have to work VERY VERY hard to get one though.

@@jleif7736 yeah I think that’s a fair assessment. Elmer still has a long way to go and is far from a sure thing. However, as far as big guys go, his skill set is so unique that I don’t think his development will mirror that of most guys his size. Nevertheless, he has the drive and the skill to make it so it will be interesting to see what his future has in store.

It’s not uncommon for the abnormally tall young players to take longer than usual to develop and grow into their frame. Tage Thompson being a good example.

Man, I was on a trip in the south helping my friend drive his sister's car down to Florida, following their rv and camping numerous times in the 10 day span. Opening night was somewhere in the middle of this trip. I thought that I'd miss it as I'd likely not have signal or be busy with my companions. Turns out the sister's husband was a wings fan and we watched it outside their rv at some beautiful Georgia Campground. I only mention it because I think I'll always remember that goal from Big Elmer.

He plays a little like Daysyuk tbh. Crazy reach when stealing the puck. Dekes before passes. Unpredictable and can dominate. I forgot how many times he just took over.

Some hilarious moments of dejection from opponents after they try to stop him. If he can stay healthy, which is really hard at that size, and fill out a little bit more then he can become something truly special. The next massive step should come when he becomes strong enough on his skates and in his body that he can play keep away comfortably enough to look for passing opportunities meanwhile. Because holy shit does he create space for his teammates.

I keep talking about a measuring stick for this team being when our 3rd line is as good as Fabbri - Copp - Rasmussen, but imagine if you have a guy like Soderblom on your 4th line. He could earn more responsibility if he improves dramatically, but even now he's an insane weapon to have on your bottom 6. Hope he can be a regular next season.

The spin move he makes on Crosby and Letang to get the assist is underrated. He brings such a unique skill set to the team.

TRULY a unique player. Not going to score 30+ goals nor have 50+ assist. But he is going to be a very good third liner and PP player, hopefully. Probably a fan favourite as well.

How did he manage to go under the radar and get picked in the 5th round in 2019. Amazing, he's is so much fun to watch, I'm so nervous about this kid being traded. Detroit is becoming a hard to team to make the roster for.

I believe in the awood40 Edvinssen video I just watched Ken or Mickey said "and that 70" stick of his" or something to that effect. Mind you, he's only 6'6" - one of the few times you may ever hear "only 6'6" " properly used used in a serious sentence !
