ELNA LOTUS REVIEW // Beginner sewing machine

Today i'll be reviewing the new Elna Lotus and comparing it to the original Elna Lotus released in 1968!
My mother in law recently got back into sewing and bought the new Elna Lotus and has been raving about it ever since - so I thought it was time I tried it out!

I had the original lotus tsp but it got stolen. I’m so sad about this. I bought it in the late 70s I believe at John Lewis while living in London, England.

What a lovely update on the original machine and a great review of it. I also have an original 1968 lotus (gifted to me by a friends mum) and I love it but don’t use it too much, so would love a review of it to maybe give me the confidence to get it out more often.

I purchased my Elna Lotus SP in 1975 and it's been wonderful, however, these days it's giving me a few issues with the bobbin area. Thread was breaking and the mechanism under the spool would stop the machine. I was lucky to find a tutorial on KZbin explaining how to take it all apart to remove the pieces of thread, after paying $175.00 for each repairs I felt empowered . Now it's the tension, and I just can't get it right. I did watch another video about the lower and upper tension and how to repair. It would be great if there were more videos about the workings of the old Elna Lotus SP.

I picked up an original Lotus for $10 @ a local charity shop, the top lid and tools are missing but it seems to be really smooth and good quality when I tested it, bought it to resew the iron on emblems on my Christmas Vacation Griswold hockey jersey and hem some curtains.

I have an Elna Stella, very similar to the original Lotus. I'd love to see you review your baby, which is exactly how I feel about my Stella.

I owned my Mothers Elna which had all the discs and was very heavy. It had the knee lever. I then traded it in for the Elna 9000 computer model and still own that.I find the Elna machines are good quality but I did enjoyed your review of the lotus.

Love your review of this machine. I have the original lotus Tx and haven't used it for awhile so inspired to start using it again. I would love it if you could go through a review of the original one too. I love your sewing room are you able to do a video of that and how you set it up, it looks very organised. I am from Australia just wondering with your accent if that is where you are from. Great work your videos go at a good pace to understand and you are nice and clear and camera work is great too, well done.
