Such appropriate words for this music. I was 14 in Tampa Florida and saw my first bare boobs to this, and rock & roll fantasy by Bad Company. In a neighborhood called Seffner. This song has meant so much to me over the years! Love ELO! I first heard this song as a young Air Force man stationed in Guam (the land of beautiful sunrises and sunsets). This song really struck my heart for some reason. Maybe it was my homesickness, I don't know for sure, but I have been such a huge fan of ELO since.
@elhoward7440 Жыл бұрын
It's a song about longing, about dreaming of a magical world when you are stuck in a rut in a bleak, joyless world... so yeah, I can see how someone stationed in Guam with island fever would relate to it. I was working for a while at Cape Lisburne radar station in the northwest corner of Alaska. Desolate, barren, windy, and depressing. Only accessible by plane.
