I believe Jeff is a really great person too - he has definitely George Harrison, Tom, Roy and Bob their best time of life bestowed. My dad's 70. I'm 36. He used to love ELO from the 70s to 90s and beyond and I always remember him playing it in the car when we were going places. I used to like it but was too 'cool' that I didn't want to admit it. Listening to this now does bring tears to my eyes as I remember special times with him and now that I'm older I listen to the words and start to wonder what I'm going to do one day when he doesn't answer the phone any more. He's always been a simple man but a good man with a lot of life experience that I ask for today.

I was 14 when this song was released and here I am 50 years later 64 and finally able to see them live one last time. I was brought to tears with some of their songs including this one. It was such a rare opportunity to see this talented group of musicians play one more time. Music like this is just a gift from a bygone era. The greatest musical event in my lifetime is that Mr. Jeff Lynne played the Hyde Park festival in late 2015, and he had an epiphany. He discovered, after years of hating the idea of touring (he and George Harrison both did and that made a Traveling Wilburys tour impossible), that he really enjoyed playing live. At the same time, fans the world over rediscovered ELO's immense catalog of wonderful songs, and the die was cast. Now, after touring and perfecting the show, this film and album come out and it's all musical perfection. Jeff deserves this. His songs are timeless. He's getting the attention and the accolades he has always deserved. I am beyond delighted.

Jeff Lynne is one of the most talented performers / musicians of all time. His voice is ethereal. So much damned talent. We love you Jeff Lynne, and we thank you for making the world a brighter place. I am so grateful for his talent it is just unbelievable.

Very few if any can move me like Jeff Lynne can. He not only sings with that indescribable voice. He also can and has played all instruments on his albums, with the exception of those irreplaceable classical musicians on bass viola and violin. He also writes his songs, and PRODUCES them as well of to songs from artists such as The Beatles, Tom Petty, George Harrison, and more. He is simply "Mr. Music," and should be Knighted if not already. I just call him "The Man," and think that distills all of this down quite well. Yeah, Mr. Music and The Man are quite descriptive of this man and his many talents. I'd do just about anything legal if I could meet him in person one day.

This is not ELO, not even close. Lynn is the only ELO guy here.

In 1976 I was 11 and i had a paper route after school. With the money I saved I bought ELO 'a new world record'. i knew every line of every song..still do. Amazing how well Jeff's music has stood the test of time..well I geuss that is because it's timeless. The guy is a genius.
