I'm glad that it was enjoyable despite being a surprise 😂 I had actually once upon a time thought about making a planetarium-style video where I buy one of those star projectors and talk about them as we look at them in the dark, but I don't know much at all about stars and space, so I'd have to have some time to learn first!

Where did you get the idea for this video? Is there a website/resources we can check out?

Well, I had the curtain lights at my office and was trying to think of what I'd want my first video in front of them to be about. I started thinking about something to do with stars (for obvious reasons), and then tried to think about what triggers I could possibly incorporate with stars and not much knowledge of space. The whole "Starmate"/personalized star was just the product of putting two and two together. After that point, I was trying to think of where I could go with it after the measuring and questions, and I remembered the International Star Registry -- I had been gifted an (unofficially) named star as a kid, and I loved it. I thought it was so cool! So that's where the finalization of the RP came from, along with the idea of the packet and certification. The International Star Registry is still a thing, as far as I'm aware, and while there is no personalization aspect, you can purchase a named star!
