I really love your chatty videos! 😃 This time I was a little bit astonished at first. Because what I thougt to be the German translation of "sensible" (I'm a and in German/y 😉) is something really positive. So I looked it up and just found out that there are over 12 different translations of "sensitive" in German. So I think in this case we are able to express oureselves more precisely because we differ between the positive and less positive aspects of being sensitive. Maby this is why I've never been called 'weak and sensitive' or something similar in German. Although I'm a very sensitive person, too. People could say quite precise which of my sensitive behaviours they didn't like without critizising the whole thing. This makes communication a lot easier. (Sorry if my English is not the best!)

That is extremely interesting! I love that other languages have more precise words/meanings for words. English has SO many words, but will still use the same ones to describe complex ideas and feelings - like love and sensitivity. Maybe some day we will learn!!

I was called weak and sensitive all my life. I now know that its just my heightened sense of justice and logic.. The only person that got that was my mother, and i lost her last year around this time. And the family i had that dont understand me or how i think have pretty much cut me off. So this talk about being sensitive and others not understanding totally hits home. Thank you for this topic.

As a mom, trying my best to make sure my kiddo knows her feelings are valid, that her voice deserves to be heard, that she can take up however much space she wants, your comment was so encouraging. Tonight her little 3yrs old self had the boldness to tell her dad he hurt her feelings & while I was telling her she was brave for doing that, I actually thought about how brave it was. Like, grown adult men aren't brave enough to stand up & tell another grown man that & she did, to someone 3x her height to boot. It made me feel like, ok, Im doing something right, but your comment was sort of the cherry on top. So many times as a parent you wonder if being there & listening & all that stuff will ever be noticed or remembered so it was so encouraging to know that your moms way of being did have a lasting positive impact.

Thank you for the video, Violet. It’s important to acknowledge the strengths of being sensitive. It’s been hard for me to frame it as positive as I’ve been trying to get on my feet and find my place in the world. Finding a career that doesn’t make me want to unexist has been an excruciating journey. The world is unfortunately so unkind to people like us, but I’m determined to keep going and stay authentic to myself. <3

Lots to unpack here. I can definitely relate to being seen as prey by others around me growing up. As I've gotten older I've learned to be friends with people who think and feel differently from me but are compassionate to my sensitivity. I think it's kind of a survival thing for me, but it's also good to learn from people who can see things diffferently and help balance my own reactions to things and vice versa. Thanks for sharing. Columbus says hello.

Wait this is so interesting. People have consistently described me as calm even though I have really intense anxiety and am not a chill person in my mind. Maybe it’s the sensitive thing? I also became a therapist because of this haha but it is super draining. I grew up with three older brothers and a boy mom who looked down on my sensitivity. Was rough

I just want to say that I love your videos so much. A lot of ASMR artists will get frustrated when there is background noise in their videos. The fact that you don't mention anything about it makes it so much more natural and not a distraction. I really enjoy hearing the background noise in there.

@@violet_elo that's so nice to hear. Carrots are notoriously troublesome to grow so good luck with those 😂. And a video of you being happy in the veg patch would make a lot of people on here very happy to see. Keep well

Hii Elo I just got done watching your clothing try on video and wanted to say that this stretching series is great I know you probably don’t take requests but I was wondering if you could make a stretching video where you stretch your arms up while wearing a shirt shirt or that cropped shirt that you have never purchased for yourself it would give you a way to show off your belly button ring but this is just a suggestion much love Elo ❤
