When talking about "Elon Time" I’ve never seen anyone talk about Parkinson’s Law which says that work will expand to fill available time. I believe that Elon sets very tight schedules specifically to get work done as quickly as possible to specifically combat Parkinson’s Law. He has no apparent problem with being wrong about predictions. He states that straight out. 50%. We are trained, in the West, to never give the appearance of being wrong while the reality is that everyone is frequently wrong. Elon has the strength of character to withstand criticism at the level of intense, world wide criticism in order to actually achieve far more than anyone has ever. As a result his timeframes are frequently off, but his results are frequently accurate, eventually.

The birth rate issue requires simple incentives. Currently young folks have learned the odds (probable) and consequences of bad marriages by suffering through them. Economics are probably a larger factor; Family costs (larger home, vehicle, food etc.) are too expensive and wages are stagnant and have been for decades. So Elon can tweet to all his peers that if they want boomer baby production rates then they can provide the incentives (better wages) to provide young working families an advantage over being single/childless.
@markthomas7279Күн бұрын
People had children in the past when they were worse off. It's not monetary per se.... It's about our choices.
@ExcessumGamingКүн бұрын
@@markthomas7279 Yeah but in the past children where money positive. As in they where your retirement funds basically. Also children lives where cheap. You should read about it. Atm cost of raising a child is astronomical and the society standards expectations are even higher. No surprise people dont want kinds its not in their best interest if they have half a brain cell. Its unpopular statement but you cant lie about history. Its easy to see in poor countries where children are still used like that.

Elon mentions the birth rate collapse issue but Optimus is literally one of the solutions to that. The labour lost but needed to support an aging population can be regained via humanoid robots. Now, the actual money needed to support the population through social security etc will have to come from somewhere other than human workers, or at least much fewer of them. We won’t have a labour problem in the future but governmental allocation of resources will have to shift in order to support people. I’m sensing UBI + humanoid robots in our future.

I have trouble understanding what is wrong with shrinking the world population. We would use less resources across the board, less division between political entities, by having less entities, robots and Ai doing laborious tasks that have plagued humanity, less waste, smaller cities, perhaps a return, for some, to a true agrarian lifestyle. What are the downsides to this? Less people means the individual is worth more, and possibly a world reduction in diseases. Major adjustments to the absurdly over complicated financial structures could be realized with far less impact on humanity as a whole. I am probably missing something and I ask this with an open mind and heart.

I am going to say this for Elon Musk and Patrick Soon-Shiong. The reason why Elon Musk thinks the way he does has lots to do with growing up in South Africa. Elon is not a racist, nor is Patrick Soon-Shiong and I believe they both obviously know apartheid was wrong. However seeing their country become a chaotic, crime-ridden, unstable, dangerous land for the last 30 years taught Elon and Patrick that even though the system of apartheid was wrong, giving complete control to people who were not ready or trained or educated to lead a country simply because of the color of their skin is not acceptable. And that is what makes the possible election of Kamala Harris so alarming. Elon has seen it before in his own land and in Zimbabwe. Don’t flood your country with illegal immigrants that do not have allegiance to what made your country successful in the first place. These are not racist ideals, they are just common sense. BTW I am not White but I am a Asian-American
