The problem is: If AI puts a predominant number of humans out of work, who will have the money to buy the products produced by AI. Without people spending money, the economy fails. The gov will have to heavily tax corporations and then give the money to the unemployed to keep the economy rolling. People are "wanting machines." Computer's aren't. Computers need energy to run, but if it's turned off, machines don't care. They don't need to run. They are perfectly content to sit in the corner and gather dust. People, on the other hand, can't go ten minutes without needing something, and that cost money, which they will happily spend, if they've got it.

When society recognizes the significant impact of AI on the human workforce, governments may need to implement a basic income to ensure every individual can afford food and health insurance, thereby managing deflation. This concept is akin to a basic security fund. While governments have historically focused on combating inflation, the advent of fully developed AI might shift their focus to fighting deflation. In such a scenario, part-time employment could become the norm for the upper middle class, full-time employment might be reserved for millionaires, and business ownership for billionaires. The average person would rely on regular government-provided income to maintain their standard of living, participate in the economy, and uphold human rights.

The only relevant term in all contemporary dialogue is "Singularity". This is the point at which all economic references are completely stripped of their meaning. Disagree. Supply and Demand will never let cost of good services to any where near zero. We have a finite amount of energy we can produce, we have limited precious metals, we have limited clean water, we have limits to data storage facilities, these among other required resources. We have an ever increasing global population that is growing exponentially. Show me the AI plan that feeds and houses 10 trillion people on a global scale. @@abebrock5559 I am not sure I understand your comment. The first thing I noticed was an error about how many people are going to be on the planet. In China, Japan, the U.S., Canada, Russia and Europe - the birthrate has declined to the point we need immigration from other places to grow. Mexico and other countries are moving in the same direction. The growth is not exponential and will soon be at a point where humanity itself shrinks. Before he got real political, Carl Marx claimed that Communism and Socialism will grow - NATURALLY - out of the Supply and Demand system. Elon Musk - is saying about the same thing - when he talks about autonomous cars and robots = androids which would be a permanent slave force that is bigger than humanity - serving a shrinking humanity on Earth. That would be part of his plan. The next would be to spread humanity to other planets - starting with Mars.
